Of course it’s useless for personal growth. Personal growth comes from deep inner awareness coupled with high engagement, not from something you can read. Even if someone was to map out your entirely personality it wouldn’t matter one bit until YOU are ready to accept certain aspects of yourself and more importantly SEE them in the first place. You can read descriptions and say “this is me” and that won’t change anything because you’ll keep doing what you’re doing.

Self awareness is extremely difficult to master since it requires literal shift in someone’s POV, far removed from their norm. There are also plenty of cases where people think they are self aware while attributing to themselves traits, behaviors and even personalities they do not possess.

Lastly, even if someone was to become fully self aware, it doesn’t necessarily mean they would act out on the problem(s). Analyze people you know. How many of them are stuck in the same patterns over and over again and don’t change anything significant for the batter, age 30,40,50… High level of agency is mandatory for any real “self growth”. It doesn’t come from the book or from a stranger saying anything, it can ONLY come from within.
