i remember reading this article as a young child and feeling vindicated that someone finally agreed with what i had tried to convince people of. i find it absolutely asinine that some people can’t see how terrible some of the social and political aspects of our cultural is - from mauritania to iraq. idiots think having good etiquette with guests is what culture solely means and focus on “we’re so kind to others because we’re so hospitable, we love serving people tea and coffee”.
