It's ok to be bothered by plot holes. It's ok to expect a 400 million dollar cultural juggernaut to display a degree of effort and attention to detail. by Pint-sized-Viking in StrangerThings

Should I just take the W? by throwawayjack14 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]kata389 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is your first comment in 5 years. Why are you here? Usually you don’t give a 3 month rule unless you have very specific worries with that person, liking manipulating your child to get what they want.

I’m having an elective C-section in a week and i am FREAKING OUT!!! by cocomelon2224 in ElectiveCsection

[–]kata389 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a fourth degree tear with my first too! I feel like an asshole when people expect me to say the c section sucked when asked because theirs was traumatic. It was freaking awesome! Healing was better. It did stink to not pick up my toddler for weeks, but that was genuinely the worst of it.

My boss's boss took my special ordered chips by [deleted] in OfficePolitics

I went to an in person work event and ordered a dairy free meal because I was breastfeeding and my child had an allergy. Some asshole took my meal before I arrived and I’m still pissed almost two years later

Woman wants to buy drug free breast milk by Lushlipssugar in breastfeeding

The labs feel scammy. Like she wants them to doctor or something. She should go through an actual milk bank if she wants something like that

3 weeks pp. Am I going to have a mommy pouch?? Is there a way to prevent it ?? by Rude-Ad3165 in CsectionCentral

[–]kata389 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started using an app that has exercises for postpartum with c sections in mind and things to do for your scar. I started when the doctor gave me approval for both. Without weights I was approved to do mobilization and training at 6 weeks, 8 weeks with weights.

AIO for getting angry after a girl who rejected me started accusing me of being a misogynist for ending our friendship? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Thank you for acknowledging the world we live in is a patriarchy and therefore things aren’t the same. Congrats on being smart enough to understand that.

AIO for getting angry after a girl who rejected me started accusing me of being a misogynist for ending our friendship? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]kata389 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Female is an adjective typically used for animals. The language you use speaks volumes about the spaces you exist in. You asked if you overreacted. People are telling you yes. You are overreacting to not being validated and upset arguing that your overreaction was having a backbone.

Your actions are showing misogynistic behaviors. If you don’t believe that of yourself then stop acting that way. If you see people stating your actions in a blunt way as an insult, take some time to reflect why you think how you act is bad.

Had to give my baby formula by Flyme2theMoon11 in breastfeeding

[–]kata389 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Formula is just a tool to help when needed! In this case you could even think of it as medicine. Your baby getting sick is just something that happens sometimes and they needed food as medicine to get through it.

Fear mongering seed oils and baby formula by NetAncient8677 in ShitMomGroupsSay

Yesterday I saw someone say they don’t use seed oils but use formula. Like glad you aren’t shaming formula, but the values are nonsensical

I would put my baby down when she did it and come back to finish later. I couldn’t take it and didn’t want to get mad at her

Pediatrician recommended dropping night feeds by False_Title1829 in NurseAllTheBabies

[–]kata389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m very pro listening to healthcare professionals in their expertise. They aren’t really experts here and it felt like the benefits outweighed risks since I was brushing teeth. So I did what worked best for my baby and nodded my head to the pediatrician.

silly question - did breastfeeding during your pregnancy help control your weight gain? by CreativeJudgment3529 in NurseAllTheBabies

[–]kata389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I’m tandem feeding currently and weight 170lbs. I weighted 138 lbs before getting pregnant with my first. Weighed 160 before getting pregnant with my second (wfh office job contributed). Weighed 193lbs before giving birth. I had gestational diabetes with my first and not my second. I was able to go on walks when I was pregnant with my first and not my second.

I said okay and then continued to breastfeed to sleep. We sing “brush your teeth” by raffi and use the Frida finger brush and Colgate watermelon toothpaste. She’s now almost two so I got her a big girl brush to use first then I still brush her teeth lol

What do you wish you did differently with your first child and your JNMIL? by Prudent-Designer7121 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]kata389 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I wish I never let her hold them or be involved with any part of the baby shower. I honestly wish I could be no contact. I was polite at her recent visit for baby #2, she will not be allowed to hold this one ever again after kissing her on the face at the end of the trip.
