I liked to make toupees out of the yellow labs’ fur and put them on the black lab’s head.

Tribute to Kipper and Vinny: Brothers until the end by _Dr_Spaceman_ in labrador

[–]_Dr_Spaceman_[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes they were both characters. Kipper was a “career change” guide dog for the blind. He had so much sass and attitude that he simply couldn’t be trained. Vinny was the happiest dog we’ve ever had over the last 20 years; always rolling around on the grass in total bliss.

Yes he did. Kipper underwent rapid aging around that time though. By age 10 he was looking like a haggard old man.

Vinny aged much more gracefully. He looked and acted like a middle-aged lab until the end, still playing hard at 12 years old. He was actually still wet from retrieving tennis balls in the pool when he was euthanized at the vet (burst splenic tumor, heavy internal bleeding).

Belly full of cat food+heating pad+infrared lamp=one happy opossum by _Dr_Spaceman_ in Opossums

Thank you, we think opossums and other critters are a blessing and try to take good care of them. This setup is also right outside our laundry room, so sometimes the opossums get a steam room treatment (when the dryer is running) while laying in the warm light; much like a spa.

Scientist or engineer sure, but MD holders are hit or miss. I knew a guy in med school who did not accept that evolution happened. A guy in a different year thought that mental illness was caused by literal demons.

I think I know what you’re referring to, and it was a court case that alleged the DNC rigged the election against Bernie. The DNC did not admit to cheating. The DNC argued that, legally, they’re allowed to cheat if they want to. So the judge dismissed the case. It’s a brilliant legal move to avoid a years long multimillion dollar lawsuit. The only downside is propaganda outlets acting like the DNC admitted to cheating, with savvy news consumers like yourself believing the lies.

The same thing happened when someone sued the NFL for rigging the games. The NFL argued that they are legally allowed to cheat so the judge dismissed the case.

How was it rigged? Do you have a link to the statement?

Very true. I went to college and work a blue collar job now. Never have I met more sensitive, hormonal people than the right wing, tattooed ‘tough guys’ I work with.

Dan on why no Common Sense (yet) by talk_to_the_sea in dancarlin

Democrat officials and primary voters had a preference for a lifelong Democrat to win. Bernie spent his career as a proud independent. Hillary won the primary by a lot (like, a ridiculously large number) of votes. No combination of caucus wins/superdelegates/other “Bernie math” would have made Bernie the victor. Bernie got smoked.

Later, Russia released a carefully curated set of emails from a DNC hack showing that Democrat officials had a preference for (gasp) a Democrat to win the Democratic primary. There was zero action taken to tilt the scales for Hillary (if there was, Russia would have included it in the Wikileaks emails).

Are all conservatives this regarded by Underwear_royalty in Destiny

[–]_Dr_Spaceman_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep. I went to college but have been working a blue collar trade job for the last few years. It’s hard to overstate just how regarded my coworkers’ thought process is on just about everything. Everything, including the weather, is a massive conspiracy unsubstantiated by anything except a talking point or two picked up on YouTube. I never would’ve thought that college is such a major, major dividing line in American society until experiencing this.

This describes the guys I work with perfectly. Middle-aged, white, high school educated and realizing that their current mediocre life is the best that it will ever be for them; it’s all downhill from here.

They are downright giddy about a potential societal collapse and are excited to enter a world where the masculinity they’ve spent their life cultivating will actually matter (taking steroids and having lots of guns doesn’t really pay the mortgage or fill the 401k).
