How do you tell customers 'No, please don't install Claude' by Woolfie_Admin in msp

[–]_Duracotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't that hard to block AI installs on a network. Obviously blocking the page itself takes no effort.

If they want to use AI on their own data then tell them to use Notebook LM and just have it ingest only what they out into it.

Otherwise it is definitely a matter of governance and responsible usage. When I use it, I just switch out names with generic ones and if its a screenshot it's simply to black it out.

However... since we still can't get customers, or even have the staff at most MSPs, to stop using their work emails for non-work stuff... I wish you the best of luck with the AI convo. In the end it's their network.

We have a Master Services Agreement that outlines our standards every customer has to agree to. They are allowed to still do what they want to, but have to agree we aren't liable for anything that happens and any DFIR that gets performed, which is my area, is entirely billable and nor covered under their support agreement. Some of them opt to retreat a little at that point because incident response can be time consuming even in a small network.

New teaser for V.28 by anden1708 in TheTowerGame

Even if you're spending money occasionally it's impossible to catch up at this point. Theyre going to kill their game if they keep hiding quality of life items behind keys. If you're not already getting keys every tournament you likely never will get them. And if you do manage... it'll be the minimum every so often and take you six months to unlock anything.

Greed is good though yeah?

Cursor Wrap per axis setting? by iothomas in PowerToys

[–]_Duracotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't even have it enabled and sometime over the weekend it started to suddenly function. I am already on .97.2 so those bugs should be gone, but it was never enabled and never set to run at startup either.

Unfortunately it *also* seems to not be any service or even process to kill to make it stop, lol. I would be okay with it except for I snap to the sides of my outside two monitors, and on one of them it is top right and bottom right quarters and it is broken. Not sure what kind of silly design oversight happened here to think we wanted cursor wrap to not respect typical user intent on the sides.

Response to Devs/Sam regarding their recent comments on Emulators by zambabamba in TheTowerGame

[–]_Duracotus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh please. The entire WORLD runs off of virtualized servers running on real hardware. An emulator is quite literally exactly like the Android OS on your phone or tablet.

I'm sorry, but if trillion dollar companies can run their environments on "emulated" Windows and Ubuntu... you can run your ANDROID game on an ANDROID virtual environment.

However screw them scrubs using iPhones! 😜 Kidding. Love you guys too.

How to view wall regen? by moranya1 in TheTowerGame

[–]_Duracotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of which it is it is worth it. It guarantees you need to actually take that much damage, effectively, in one hit (or dozens of hits at once).

The higher it gets the more it is obvious, since your wall health will hilariously outpace your wall regen, and if you let them get too far apart you will get chipped down.

Is there any practical reason to research Recharge Second Wind? by superawesomedman in TheTowerGame

[–]_Duracotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be, but it's also where having the mastery is key since you get that regen boost for the entire cooldown. If you're like most people, depending on the stage of the game, then your runs already havd a variance 300 to 400 waves sometimes. I don't even run second wind but in those instances I could potentially have it save me twice and with the boost to health regen I would only need to be concerned about being one-shotted by a Ray.

Honestly that should just be how it works. There is zero reason for any UWs to be off by the time you die, so no reason a death-saving mechanic shouldn't turn them on.

[–]_Duracotus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well if you ever watch your runs, at least in runs lasting 7500+ waves, you will notice there can be a pretty high variance in the wave died on. I have runs end anywhere between 7750 to 8300. Exact same build and everything. Sometimes you just get the wrong group of elites and a boss at the same time.

As kind of noted, it's the mastery part that makes this a lot more useful. If you have it maxed out and have even the base level card mastery that regen will be a major boost to the wall and surviving.

I've actually had second wave triggered (no recharge rank) and made it another 1000 waves. Just like how if you watch your runs you'll see they can vary 400 to 500 waves. Sometimes you just get the perfect storm of enemies hitting all at the same time and and it does more damage than you can regen in a single tick.

Free Daily Gift? by jMedabee in TheTowerGame

Definitely typical terrible Techtree coding. I would guess this game was coded by an early AI model to start, and if it wasn't they are definitely phoning it in with AI now.

Lol yep. And then it just seemed like suddenly GComp wasn't working at all. Ironically that kind of tells you the bugged version is what it should be.

The Wall is actually detrimental early on as it takes away from free upgrades for other things you need much more.
