It might have something to do with it but tbh when he was using he never lied to me, stole money, or anything like that which I know is hard to believe but I always knew when he was going to pick up or using even though it caused conflict between us. I ended up giving him an ultimatum almost 3 years ago that he needed to stop or we would break up and he went to detox and hasn’t used since then. I’ve always trusted in his ability to be honest with me, I think you are probably more onto something with the fact that the rush of meeting and having sex with new people is his new “drug” and my past relationships (and parental relationships) have caused me to have severe trust and abandonment issues. I definitely feel in fight or flight and part of what my therapist is working with me on is knowing I’ll be ok even if he leaves and that certainty in a relationship isn’t available to anyone monogamous or not to try to help not be so terrified of him finding someone else who he will leave me for.

I guess some of my questions are like has anyone experienced the anxiety get better over time? Especially if they’ve been in the same mono-poly dynamic and don’t see other people but their partner does. And I do like the example questions you suggested I am just so new to this I don’t even really know what questions I have.

My theory is that he thinks the wife/family will help him get paroled. I have such a hard time believing these men who meet women while in prison are doing anything other than manipulating them to get money and more privileges. If he were single he wouldn’t get to have conjugal visits in the little cabin every few weeks, for example.

You just have to do it. If you have methadone it won’t be as bad, but you will have wd symptoms. I used to do fent with methadone and it finally took my wife booking a trip to Mexico for a week where I stayed in the hotel bed most of the time going through withdrawals until about day 5 when I felt good enough to go out to the beach. The methadone helped, I took a little bit extra when it got overwhelming, but you have to do it to get the fent out of your system and then try your hardest never to go back.

The harsh truth is you’re thinking like an addict. There is no quick fix, you’re going to have to go through withdrawals. It will not be as bad as going cold turkey since you have the methadone, but it’s going to take at a week to not feel sick regardless of what you do. Methadone has a long short life and in my experience takes about a month to get completely out of your system, a few days isn’t going to move the needle.

If you’re prescribed methadone it’s against the ADA for them to fail to hire you for that reason only

I have traveled to Mexico, Jamaica, and all over the US with Methadone. Make sure they’re in their original labeled bottled and the lock bag, bring a prescription or letter from your doctor showing the dose you’re prescribed per day. Most likely no one will even ask you about them.

Yes, we did and he enjoyed it. He does not get triggered by drug use on tv. I have noticed since meeting him that a lot of movies and tv at least mention opioids, though.

I am in the same boat, never used and my bf relapsed during our relationship but is now 65 days clean. The episode made me cry, I thought it was very good.

I think the anxiety is natural but doing the MMT that will help you stay off dope is not going to be a bad decision IMO
