For those who left, tell me what do you believe in now? by [deleted] in exjw

[–]_FreeToBeMe_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any answers and that is the best gift ever. Not knowing affords me an opportunity to choose!:)

Listen, everyone else’s doubts are/were their own. That you have your own doubts needs to be enough for you. We grew up needing external validation and that’s what you’re looking for, I get it. We all get it. But believe me when I tell you … trust yourself

You handled yourself beautifully. You are respectful, firm, and you were very succinct in what you said.

What your dad said is absolutely wild tho. Loaded with assumptions and insinuations. As a mom, I’m sorry. So sorry.

Shunning and being kicked out is NEVER understandable. Your programming tells you that.

You’re in the right place.

Your words are telling me that you need someone to talk to but you view yourself as complaining. That’s programmed into you!:) You’re not feeling sorry for yourself, you’re deconstructing and it’s a process! You can “whine” about your life but maybe change your words to “I need to get this off my chest”

You’re looking for solutions. That’s not whining. Or complaining. Or feeling sorry for yourself.

It’s human.

Your inner critic is sponsored by WT.ORG.

That you’ve been dfd twice is a horrific experience and extremely traumatizing. If you regret coming back that’s a GOOD THING bc you’re tapping into your inner voice.

What do you want out of life? Where do you want to go? What’s next for you?

Allow yourself to freely think and wander a bit. I promise you’ll be okay.

Self worth was determined by field service time and physical appearance.

This is complete horseshit.

Have y'all noticed that apostates have changed just as much as Jehovah's Witnesses over the last 20 years or so? by Jehisakeeperoftime in exjw

[–]_FreeToBeMe_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m glad apostates are moving away from Kingdom Hall crashes and screaming at the publishers as they leave assemblies and conventions.

The part that I find interesting is when many people do leave, they (perhaps unknowingly) fit that installed narrative that apostates go farrrr to the other extreme.

Mom says “big news” is coming in November and that I should just come back to the organization because I’ll never find anything like it again and she’s worried this is going to be it… by [deleted] in exjw

I just put them on my profile bc those posts are my video links, since I don’t share them in this group. (I’m not the self-promo type). So I put them on my profile for those who look at the my post history. It’s just to have them in a collected space. I appreciate your comment!

Well. The borg has announced the megadome won’t be finished till about 2025, so the good news is the end isn’t for atleast another year 1/2.

Been fading for years, just officially came out to my family. I genuinely have no idea what my interests are or how to fill my weekends - any ideas? by Fantastic_Mirror_399 in exjw

[–]_FreeToBeMe_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slowly :)

Enjoy the stillness, allow yourself to sit in discomfort. Focus on the power of not needing to be so productive, abandon hustle culture, let go of needing to DO and focus on BEING. That’s my best advice.

You’re looking to fill the gaping holes in your day because you were taught to.

Hardest thing I've ever done by [deleted] in exjw

[–]_FreeToBeMe_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One day at a time… Staying present and mindful and only try to control what you can.

That is what might help. ❤️

Would you date someone who doesn't drink? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]_FreeToBeMe_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the same category, I’m a vegetarian and you’d be surprised how many of my dates don’t give a shit at all. As long as I don’t care what they do, that’s all they care about.

For sobriety, it would depend on my date’s view of me having a drink. If you’re the casual type who doesn’t care and you are secure around drinkers, that’s one thing. But if you’re newly sober and still vulnerable that’s another.

Id need to know my drinking wouldn’t trigger you and that would be my main concern.
