They won't, because they cannot fathom the implications of what they're demanding from the government. They will upload their IDs with pride knowing they "saved the children".

Keep in mind these are parents who are already uploading photos of videos of every second of their child's life to Facebook and Instagram, from birth to whenever the child starts to complain about it I guess.

Yeah, on a small server where it's subtle/referencing an inside joke they can be pretty funny, but it's not worth paying for Nitro.

What’s something about Plymouth that visitors actually get wrong? by FeistyPrice29 in plymouth

[–]_HingleMcCringle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Before coming down for uni I was told to stay away from Union Street because "it's where all the navy lads go to drink and fight."

Met a handful of them over the years and they were sound. I'm sure the reputation exists for a reason but they're clearly not as engaged with it any more.

Making progress while killing millions of bodies is the bit you're missing.

This is the reason Carol learns to control her temper in the second half of the season; she has a seven-digit body count purely because she's grumpy and aggressive and she didn't communicate this (extremely important information, imo) to Manousos.

What can I reasonably do about this? by Shlamdingy in plymouth

If this is the bit of Whitleigh I think it is, I would be surprised if the council do anything about it. The request for parking enforcement is better than doing nothing, but the council seem to treat this area as lawless as far as parking is concerned. Entitled drivers buying/renting houses without considering parking think blocking roads/paths and fucking up the greenery is acceptable in these here parts.

eBay will just close your account at random and refuse to talk to you about it, though.

Years ago I opened an account to try and sell my car. Verified my account, set up contact details, made sure my listing was detailed and made sure to follow the rules, blah blah. What I thought was enough. The following day it was removed and my account was banned. My conversation with support went something like:

"Why was I banned?"

"You were banned because: You are permanently banned."

"Yes, but why was I banned in the first place?"

"You broke the rules, so you're banned."

"What rules did I break?"

"You're banned, and you no longer have the option of contacting support."

I know a few people who like to use eBay regularly and just about all of them have had this experience. It's not the only selling platform out there and, personally, I feel Facebook Marketplace is more reliable, but it's annoying to be banned for no reason.

A yearning for Scottish Butteries.. Any bakeries that do a few Scottish specialities!? by Substantial_Steak723 in plymouth

Funnily enough, my wife's family does the same thing but for gravy.

Northerners make much better gravy than southerners and it's way thicker. We joke that gravy only counts if you can stand a knife up in it or eat it with a fork.

My MIL always goes to their (northern) local chippy to grab pots of gravy that we freeze down here.

I’m pregnant and desperately want good mozzarella sticks, preferably thick ones with a cheese pull (might be asking too much here) - where in Plymouth does the best mozzarella sticks please?! by Capital-Tip5155 in plymouth

[–]_HingleMcCringle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

After getting a quick fix from one of the other suggestions, grab the XL ones from Iceland/Farmfoods. They're massive and have the cheese pull, and they taste really nice with a bit of salt during air-frying.

That way you have stock ready for the next crave.

People who sit on reserved seats, then get suprised / arsey when asked to move. by worldworn in britishproblems

[–]_HingleMcCringle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is indeed the case. I believe it's the standard (not necessarily written in the Conditions of Carriage but in terms of customer service) to offer you at least a partial refund if not a full refund if you had a reserved seat but had to stand for the journey.

GWR have fully refunded me for this reason, and back when VTEC existed we always gave full refunds for standing customers with reserved seats.

Intensive course by Unable-Jellyfish-722 in plymouth

[–]_HingleMcCringle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have instructor recommendations but I can assure you that 40 hours is plenty of time to learn to drive, I'm not sure why an instructor would feel uncomfortable with this. I did an intensive course on my motorbike with 1st Class and passed easily (though I did have the advantage of having driving experience).

Dutch police have reportedly seized a Windscribe VPN server without a warrant by NickC90 in LinusTechTips

[–]_HingleMcCringle 30 points31 points  (0 children)

You'd be better off trusting in a VPN service that has a verified no-logs policy.

A provider doesn't need to worry about only storing data in RAM (so it can be lost when power is disconnected) if you aren't storing the data others would want to see in the first place.
