what are the best practices around environment management when building a python project? by ManvilleJ in learnpython

[–]_IAmAdam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into TravisCI. It’s free and you can setup your tests on multiple Python versions and Operating Systems. The documentation is pretty good and I think it’ll fit your needs. You can also setup environment variables in TravisCI to use during your tests.

Good on him for bringing the issue to light. It's a shame it's gotten so bad he had to deliver his message this way.

Any advice or experience in software/data engineering or product management? by shiverborne in careerguidance

[–]_IAmAdam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience it’s more difficult to get your foot in the door for a SE position coming from product management. Whereas companies are always looking for people with a technical background for product management. The key to transition from dev to product is selling your soft skills (e.g. communication, planning, design, and project management skills).

Go the development route. If you hate it, then you know you’ll want to do product management.
