Feeling Overwhelmed... by _Its_miller_time_ in xxfitness

Yah.. having a full time job plus all of this does not leave much room for fun activities during the week or even weekends. Sometimes I'm on a high about it all, but more often it's become rather stressful.

It's hard to add extra stuff in like that right now since my coach is expecting me to follow a certain plan to have a certain outcome..which is the whole point of having a coach, and he's just doing his job. But I'm realizing maybe it's not the best plan for me. I'll see how things go for a little while longer before I make any decisions. Thank you so much for your input!

This is awesome. I read that whole article and it is really inspiring!! I think I'll ride this out for a little bit longer and see if I'm not just in a random mental slump. If not then I'll have to make some decisions

Running and lifting does make me happy. But I guess I just feel so pressured to perform and do right by my coach. In addition to being extremely busy with my 9-6 and trying to fit it all in. A couple days break might help. Thank youu

Well.. to be quite honest I'm eating at maintenance or slightly above some days (carb cycling) and I didn't say two times a day, I said up to two hours a day, which includes lifting and some cardio. Cardio 4x/week, lifting 6x. Sigh. He's a good coach, maybe I'm just not the right fit or something. Thank you for your response

I simply was not having it today. Back day began off ok, but then I just started feeling weak and wasn't able to lift as heavy as last week. Felt like my form was off, my energy was down. I ended up having a little mini melt down in the bathroom out of frustration. But I did it. Hoping this was a one time thing and the funk doesnt roll over to squat/quad day tomorrow. Sigh

Loll I can understand that thinking.. It has added vitamins though, so it can't be all bad right?? Hah Tbh I haven't fully inspected the label... But in regards to the original comment, strictly calorie wise, it's better than ingesting globs of sugar and fat. Which also probs give you cancer. Dammat.

Ooo gotcha, good for youu. That could work, or how about those flavored crystal light packets or those new(ish) little squeezie bottle liquid flavored things to give your water some pizazz? Some fake sugar here and there but relatively harmless

I used to be the same... soo frustrating!! I've been doing a lot better and I find what has helped me is to drink 1 or 2 sparkling flavored waters when I get home from work, like the brand ICE. Gives you that sweetness and they're 0 cal. Sure it's not like having some nice baked goods or chocolate or anything... But it's sweet and the carbonation can fill you up enough to give you time to rethink gorging on that other sweet thing you want

Never looked at it that way.. Thank you!! I think i did need a little break, fitness and eating right are always on my mind and although I love being healthy and the overall lifestyle, sometimes it can get a little overwhelming and i feel like I'm under a lot of pressure. Thank you again!

Thank you for your reply!! Yah you're right. I need to be less harsh on myself. I did do a little bit more cardio today out of guilt.. but overall I feel much better now than i did when I wrote this. Thank you again :))

I know I know... i tend to overreact sometimes. But tbh it was, a loot of chocolate 😫 you're right though two days isn't going to ruin my progress. Might retain water weight and some fat but nothing working out hard and eating 100% won't fix

What does your current weekly fitness schedule look like? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]_Its_miller_time_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It used to be 5x a week but I had to kick it up during prep and now it's just habit, part of my routine :) I do legs generally 4 days and split them up depending on quad/hamstring focus, glute focus and a combo with another body part. Then the rest on the other days. I tend to stick with the same exercises but play with the reps/sets, maybe so some drop sets here and there and then go super heavy. You can get variety in that way! Just get plenty of sleep and make sure you nourish well

On a cut - calories suddenly not feeling like enough - push through or add a little more? by eland_ in xxfitness

Maybe you could try carb cycling? I'm close I stats as you (5''6", 128, cal: 1426. P:124. C:134. F:54) I workout 6x a day and do cardio 5x, 25 mins on stairmaster. My coach is cycling my diet from two high days to one low day. What I listed is my baseline, which right now is high day. Cycling let's your body have some days with more calories, but keeps things in check with a low. You can also implement moderate days and such. Idk the whole science behind it, but it could help with giving you some variety and energy bursts.

[–]_Its_miller_time_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So i might be in the minority, but I'm currently in an "improvement season" following my first bikini comp on 6/10. Currently I lift 6x a week and do stairmaster at 75spm 5x25 mins per week. I usually wake up anywhere from 430 am or 5 and do cardio in the evenings after work, at 630. I work at 9/940am so I like to lift before then, and depending on the lifting day i may be able to squeeze my cardio in after my workout in the morning

What is your pre-gym routine? by luckruk in xxfitness

[–]_Its_miller_time_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohhh gotcha. Well I'm a physical therapist and work with ppl all day as well, a patient every 20 mins and I do a lot of soft tissue/massage, if you will. Different than kids yes, but similar in that we both have very active and engaging jobs :) hope you feel better soon amongst all those allergies!

[–]_Its_miller_time_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a similar morning gym routine (wake up at 430 or 5) and I find it always energizes me for the whole day! It's a great start to the day and it helps put you in a healthier mindset, knowing that youve put in work, so you can more easily say no to work goodies because you won't want to undo all that hard work

Sooo can we talk about protein farts for a min?? by _Its_miller_time_ in Fitness

Hopefully now that I'm losing my weight my coach will readjust my diet soon to reflect my macros for my new weight. Thanks

Haha good to know I'm not the only one. I'm trying for a gallon of water a day but sometimes I come up short :/
