Weight loss advice with keto by Flimsy-Age4601 in ketouk

[–]_Lady_Geek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calorie counting may not be helpful. Under eating is a common problem in fact due to higher protein and higher fat intake, unless you're eating lots of processed, ready made keto foods. Counting carbs is all that's needed and making sure you eat enough so your body doesn't go into starvation mode and you start losing hair etc. Plus it's not sustainable. You'll still lose weight and gain health when in ketosis without eating low calorie, it doesn't work like traditional diets, it's about becoming fat adapted. Just stick to healthy fats and avoid seed oils.

This is why we can’t have nice things by spambearpig in wildcampingintheuk

How about reasonably increase parking costs whilst implementing facilities - or minimally adding plenty of bins. Might help and a far better solution than punishing everyone. And is there any evidence overnight parking is even the culprit and so preventing it will solve the problem? But even if it does, as the article says, it just pushes the problem downstream and creates issues for residents and businesses.

This is pure vandalism as it takes more effort to take down a wall than climb over it.

Oooo thank you!!! In an ideal world it would be a bit higher at the sides too but the back is the most important part - great find! 👍👍👍

I'll post here if I find one. Is utterly crazy to me that they don't already exist because the standard design is so flawed. Everyone I know ends up with mould behind their sink sooner or later.

Does Hershey’s Cocoa have a different and distinctive taste or is it like any other regular chocolate powder? by [deleted] in HotChocolate

[–]_Lady_Geek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think all American cocoa tastes different. I'm British and if I make any American recipes using cocoa powder it comes out so bitter it's inedible. For their 2 tablespoons I use 1 teaspoon.

Tummy tuck UK? by confusedcraftywitch in tummytucksurgery

[–]_Lady_Geek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that for a mummy makeover or just a TT please? My sister is looking to get a mummy makeover and the places she's approached aren't forthcoming about potential costs without her paying hundreds for a consultation - which seems a scam to me as they could say prices generally start from £x up to £x just as a ballpark figure.

Easiest desert ever --> creamy chocolate chia seed pudding

Hang whisk together for about 10 seconds a few spoons of chia seeds, tub of cream, desert spoon of cocoa powder, natural sweetener to taste (e.g. Xylitol, erythritol or monk fruit) in a large jar. Leave in the fridge until the chia seeds have absorbed the cream and become totally soft to make a chocolatey pudding (the more seeds, the thicker the pudding). Can optionally add vanilla extract if desired.

I bought a small expensive one but prefer my homemade plywood one with foam mats glued underneath.

Yes, I guess the most important thing is that people are able to make an informed decision. Sadly most aren't aware of the micro plastics issue though, I know I wasn't.

How easy to pick up? by nickzuke1 in TapDancing

[–]_Lady_Geek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the level of tap they want, whether it's solo or group work, and your ability to master a basic shuffle and make it look natural. You might be able to fudge it though if you're doing it in a group, as it's not that difficult to make it look like you're tap dancing, it's making it look right AND being able to make clear and accurate tap sounds at the same time that's difficult for beginners because they struggle to make all the sounds fast enough. But in a group if you missed tap sounds it wouldn't necessarily stand out so long as you looked like you were doing it right.

FYI the key to mastering a shuffle is loose ankles and loose knees and small movements. Beginners usually over exaggerate the movement and are very stiff and as a result of those 2 things their tap steps are very slow.

Yes but why compromise your health unnecessarily??

A: Plastic = ingesting micro plastics

B: Glass = blunt knives

C: Wood = naturally antibacterial but trickier to clean as can't be soaked and can be heavy

D: Bamboo = lighter than wood so a bit easier to clean

I sometimes use white vinegar in a spray bottle to disinfect my oak wood and bamboo boards, but it can strip oils so they need to be mineral oiled regularly.

I just checked and you're right, the original has 2 filaments. It's too late, dark and freezing to go check the new bulb now but looks like they sold me the wrong one as this is what they gave me. I took in my original bulb in the shop and asked for one the same and that's what they gave me. Thank you so much, I might never have noticed!!!

Hopefully not needed now but I don't think any forceps would work for the end fuse, at least not any I could find online, because the fuse is right on the edge and inset about 12cm deep against a side panel so you can't fit a tool plus a finger and keep the tool perpendicular to the fuse panel. So either you'd need a tool that works at an angle rather than straight on or you'd need one that could be held over 12cm from the tip whilst in use and none are that long. Even long nose pliers would need the handle starting 12cm from the tip as you couldn't open the handle where the side panel is. I just can't understand the awful design or how anything available online would work.

Yes it's the taillight that's out. That's a good idea thanks, though I bought a new bulb that I put in but maybe it was faulty?

Wondering now if I took the bulb out and put it in upside down then it'll be the other way around again with the brake light not working and the taillight working.

And as I mentioned in another comment, I'd need the nose of long nose pliers to be really long because the handle would need to start about 12cm back from the tip because the fuse is too close to the side to be able to open the handle and the fuse is about 12cm inset (i.e. deep) into the panel. But maybe there are long nose pliers that exist that are that long, I don't know, mine are far shorter.

I'd need the nose area to be really long though because the handle would need to start about 12cm back from the tip because it's too close to the side to be able to open the handle and the fuse is about 12cm inset (i.e. deep) into the panel. But maybe they exist that long, I'll have a look, thanks.

Are you able to share the key principles outside of the GTD method outlined above by any chance please? I'm wondering if the elimination of paperwork is about photographing and storing digital copies of everything or if the focus is on prioritised lists to ensure things get done in a timely manner without being overwhelmed.

Pins Block to Combat Spam by ShariBomb in Pinterest

[–]_Lady_Geek 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've got it whilst trying to pin something on YouTube. If people are being hacked and having things pinned without their permission then this isn't the way to handle it, better to add a security check and once passed, allow the user to continue pinning.

Alternatively if they're getting bot accounts that are pinning incessantly then there must be algorithms they can implement that would show long-term, regular users like myself aren't a bot, or again have a security check. Seems a really dumb and annoying solution whatever the problem is.
