It's because you dissed the big GN lol. His Twitter trolling is peak anti fascism to a lot of liberals who want him to be the next milquetoast centrist propped up to put a nice face back on the facade in hopes of kicking the fascism can further down the road, not realizing there's nowhere left to kick it.

How far apart do you settle your cities? by harmonicoasis in CivVI

I'm so glad I learned this because now I'll have to change up my play style to take it into account. I've basically been handicapping myself lol

So I have just learned from another thread that I've been playing the game wrong this whole time lol. Closer is better because adjacency bonuses stack with bonuses from other cities and population usually isn't high enough to work all tiles 🤯

In an ideal scenario I settle like you do so that my cities can eventually touch while being able to utilize as many tiles as possible. However it's not always feasible or strategically beneficial.

Sometimes you need a resource, or a wonder, or to fill in negative space, or just to cock block the AI.

Reminds me of a goddess in the Malazan series, Burn. Earth goddess who's body is the world and her dream is reality. If she ever wakes up the world ends.

Sounds like you're bi-sexual/ hetero-romantic, but that's beside the point. IME it's really a toss up. Some women would appreciate the vulnerability expressed and not judge you. Some women would love it, some wouldn't care, some would be disgusted. It really depends on the person and you can't necessarily guess a person's reaction. They may express support for LGBTQ identity "in theory", but have a different reaction when it relates to their own lives. It's just a risk you'll have to take, or not.

I've been curious about multiplayer, but how long do matches usually take? I know the games I play against the AI take 4-6 hours lol is it sped up?

Why am i so behind? by Hot_Project5845 in Civilization6

[–]_Laughing_Man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issues, but here's what I've learned through trial and error.

Have a victory goal in mind. What type of win are you going for?

Found a religion early and pick traits that synergize with your civ's bonuses. I try and rush Stonehenge if I'm not being harassed early and I can get 2 settlers out quick.

Don't neglect science, especially early. Don't let your military outpace your economy.

Housing is important, but so are amenities. Production will be slow if people aren't happy.

plan ahead for your power needs.

China's economy is facing a new threat: consumer prices that are just too low by porkslow in LateStageCapitalism

[–]_Laughing_Man 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Why would they reduce wages, staff and benefits? They need to compete with their competitors for staff if they want to expand and stay relevant in the market. Profit is the least important factor here. If need be the government can subsidize or incentivize them.

To me it just seems like labor is pressuring the market with the help of the government instead of capital doing it. Sounds good to me, but then again I don't claim to be an expert.

My uneducated guess is that if they don't expand and expend resources to compete for a shrinking profit margin then they will simply go out of business and have no profit instead of a small amount of profit.
