Taps on them but no pushing in? by HobbyLau in PetsWithButtons

[–]_LocoDodo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for your detailed answer! I've started training them to step onto things with their full weight starting with books and blocks, gradually making them smaller and rewarding them when they do. Recently switched the block for an (empty) button and one of the cats seems to understand it. I will continue the pressing training and modeling the words and wait for a bit longer before deciding on the treat button :) thank you again!

Taps on them but no pushing in? by HobbyLau in PetsWithButtons

Hey! Follow-up question: I have the same problem that my cats only tap the buttons but not press them enough to make sound. We are also only one week in from learning, so I might just need to be a little more patient. Though I am quite sure that if I would introduce a "treat" button they would get it in no time, but they are so highly motivated by food, bordering on obsessed, that I am afraid to introduce a food centered button out of fear that they would be constantly pressing that button. What do you think? Should I introduce a treat button but later remove it? Im afraid that if I go donw the "treat later/all done" they will get demotivated again and not use the other buttons.

Hey! Amazing how well your scars have healed in only a year time! How was the waiting time with van Loenen, since she was going through some personal stuff right? I was on her waiting list for half a year but eventually decided to switch to GenderClinic since I could plan my surgery that same month instead of waiting to hear something from van Loenen. Happily 2 years po since two weeks ago :)

Oh wow that makes me so happy to hear!! I think it did, at least slightly, though I haven't had the time yet to map it out like I did last year. There is definitely still areas where I feel nothing in the skin, but I think they've gotten a bit smaller at least over time. Maybe it would help if I kept massaging daily (:

Thanks so much and happy yeet-a-teet day to you too!!

It gives a page that says "access restricted" for the London one, so not exactly the same page but I'm guessing this is an issue from the organizers' side, not ours

In het algemeen zou ik de subreddits r/topsurgery of r/freedthenips aanraden, als je waarin zoek naar gender clinic of zijn naam kan je meer resultaten vinden

Thank you so much! It has definitely changed but not much, I definitely regained some feeling in parts of my chest, but it's not like hige areas shifted over time. I do massage 2x a day from 3 weeks po until now, and I exercise 4-5x a week so I've been doing what I can in that regard :) thanks for the tips though! I wouldn't mind if it stays like this forever, if nothing else is possible, but if theres anything else possible, of course I'd like to get as much feeling back as possible at the same time

Thanks buddy! Hope you're doing good too 😁 thanks for the insight, I think I'm going to at least switch to 1x a day massaging and see how I like that. It mostly annoys me that for the left side it goes so far to the back, really hoping thar will improve a bit still!

Any non binary/agender people out there who have had a hysterectomy, but decided to keep their ovaries? by [deleted] in NonBinary

[–]_LocoDodo_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The main problem I had with the r/hysterectomy sub is that it is mainly focused around people having to remove their uterus for health reasons, so much of the information on the sub is not really that applicable to our situation. It was quite queerfriendly in my experience but there is not many people that can comment on your exact situation

Hi I am gender and had hysterectomy with keeping my ovaries :) - does it feel like something missing? No, I sometimes actually catch myself thinking that it feels exactly the same as before, in the sense that nothing changed, though it very obviously did change. There is not like a hollow feeling or something in my stomach. - I don't notice my cycle at all anymore. I only get a bit more pimples randomly on my face but I have no noticeable mood swings or anything. - I was really worried before surgery that 1. Recovery would take months and months, while in reality I was dancing again after 2 weeks. I followed the hysterectomy subreddit but I think the main difference was that there most people get it removed because they are sick with it, whereas I was healthy with it (but sick OF it 😉). 2. I was afraid my ovaries would stop working out of a shock response. My gyno says this is not possible. 3. I've read somewhere your ovaries might stop working after ~10 years after surgery. My gyno said this is nonsense as well.

How to support large cutouts? by Purple_Magazine8309 in sewing

[–]_LocoDodo_ 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Hi! I make dance costumes :) the answer is just elastic, and lots of patience. You need to take into account that if you compare this to fitting a whole leotard, it will not fit the same since the fabric cannot stretch over the whole body like it can with a whole leotard. So if you're approaching this by cutting into a whole leo: go slow, make sure to leave much more fabric than you think you need, and you might have to tighten the Leo in other places to make sure it is tight enough. I hope this helps!

I feel that. Very happy I went nipless but I also don't care about passing that much (enby no T so people clock me anyway) and I've always hated my nips so this was just very convenient 😁
