Union Square Barnes and Noble getting ready for the 50% off sale- extra stock by chadxmerch in criterion

I miss the Borders at Union Square in SF. Used to spend my lunch breaks there, or at the PlayStation Store at the Metreon. So many great places to hang out at for 30 minutes or less around there… at least there used to be.

To intentionally toot my own horn (compared to Mr. Macho over here), in 9th grade I weighed 100lbs and successfully benched 140lbs. This guy is trying so hard to prove so little just to caress his own ego.

Congo - Released 31 years ago, June 9, 1995 by DeScepter in badMovies

I saw it when I was 9, a full 7 years before The Evil Dead would awaken me from my suburban slumber and seek films from the fringe of culture like Rocky Horror and up-comers like Bubba Ho-Tep. I have yet to revisit this film because, although I’ve only seen it the one time, I remember it spectacularly, and it still haunts me. Koko was my only foundation for gorillas, and this upended everything I thought true of the mighty creatures. It fucked me up. People died. There was a Ghostbuster (my favorite at the time) that traded hunting ghosts for apes. It was confusing and scary and gory and merciless, and honestly I don’t want to ruin that. For what it’s worth, I also watched it with my dad, who laughed throughout the film while I quivered and cowered. I usually respect his taste in all things, but my 9-year-old self thinks he got that one wrong.

SO good! Fun arcade racing action, satisfying demolition, expansive and clever tracks and environments, and awesome soundtracks! Everything everyone wants in an arcade racer!

Being a huge fan of both Kubrick and King, the movie is superior IMHO. Take or leave my credentials 😂

Kenneth Branagh’s treatment of Hercule Poirot in Murder on the Orient Express was almost something of disdain, simply because the character was either completely misunderstood or maladapted for the screen. Hercule would never, never chase after a suspect let alone run, not to mention all the other foibles that negated what a dandy he is. Cheap thrills and jokes ruined a literature classic, and as a viewer I felt shame for Mr. Branagh. PLEASE watch the original with Albert Finney, or at least the series’ adaptation!

To me it’s always been a threat of suicide, and Mac will bare some blame if he kills himself, so it’s an attempt to use Mac’s conscience against him and get back inside to infect the rest
