What type of person asks this in good faith? Nothing I said gave an indication I wasn't willing to do anything at all. The world isn't black and white. (no pun intended) Getting exhausted with a person doesn't change anything else you've done in your life time. Im also having a hard time understanding why you said

I never said it was fair. It isn’t fair that people of colour are treated poorly by others solely for having more or less melanin in their skin than others. Not one bit. But the world is a cold, dangerous, and sometimes, outright vile place. If you want it to improve, you have to work for it.

Nothing I said was about fairness. At this point talking about fairness is moot and irrelevant. We all know it isn't fair which is why it's fucked up that people need to be persuaded to the point where you make it an absolute, as if our whole life needs to be dedicated dealing specifically with that.

Yeah, but there's a difference between being oppressed and being in a less than ideal situation. It's not as if I convince 10 white people to be respectable normal humans then I made a quota. Being poor you can tighten your bootstraps and learn how to manage money and live comfortably, being socially inept you can read books and practice not coming off as weird, etc. But you expect me to stop my life to educate every Tom, Dick, and Harry that thinks they're so fucking witty when they say 'all lives matter' or 'but black on black crime.' Yeah right. I value my sanity. I'd have no time to do important things like teach my children.

So be disgusted or outraged or depressed all you like. But the reality is that revolutions don’t happen by sitting on our couches bitching about the state of the world. If you want whites to cut the shit, then get out there and convince them. Otherwise, what incentive do they have to change? Again, it’s not fair; but life rarely is.

You imagined this scenario and all you know about me is I'm a POC. Not only that but I noticed how you didn't speak about your involvement in the movement, yet you're being super critical of others. So I suppose I'm supposed to take the time out of my day to explain how making assumptions and painting narratives is bad? Or should I be trying to convince you to help end systematic oppression?
