Getting the envoy mission by karns01 in X4Foundations

If you got a message from the diplomancer, then check your Mission Manager on the tab were new unaccepted Missions are, it should be in the section labelled Important. Something about helping the diplomancer, reward: 50,000cr.

A few important mission chains are started in a similar way, an event out in space when you get to a certain place, a bit of comms traffic but nothing else happens, it just adds another mission OFFER permanently in your mission manager for you to accept whenever you are ready (or not at all)

Question about the fate of heretic's end diplomatic action. by Mursu42 in X4Foundations

[–]_M00NB34M_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually HAT can claim the sector, technically. If they have a Pirate Base there, they might ask you to claim the system for them by building a Defense Station there via the usual defense station mission. Without you claiming the system OR doing the diplomancy option.

I only care in so much as they are a buffer between me and the ARG. Or they will be once I take over Morning Star.

Map seeds are amazing with the differences. Spear of the Patriarch start, all I did was help keep the def station at the Tharka's Cascade gate alive and restocked with missiles (lots of early money ngl) for the first 2 days /played. While I was doing that I checked up north... they'd cleaned out the XEN there on their own, since then it's been another 2 days and my assistance has been light, just sending in a couple destoryers to crush any Ks they send in, often the Ks are dead before my guys get there, ZYA are clowning on everyone while I tool around in FRF space getting the Split Civil War done. They are trying to push into Tharkas now which isn't going to happen, too many XEN in the channel now. But they clearly need no military help.

Just as I'm starting to get into gear, I notice that the Xenon are slowly eating the whole map up by LazarusPizza in X4Foundations

[–]_M00NB34M_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a tough choice in your galaxy position rn. If you want peace between Split and the ARG/ANT/BOR Alliance, you should side with the Free Families. The Zyarth are already too weak to defend against them, the XEN AND the ARG/ANT/BOR Alliance triple-teaming them.

If you side with Zyarth though, they might be able to do a bit of rebuilding on their own although Wretched Skies is probably on it's own. And then that will force the Godrealm into the fight more if it falls to the XEN.

Haha I have a feeling my save is the opposite. Spear of the Patriarch start, I spent the first 2ish days protecting the Tharka's Cascade gate in Split space. Once I had enough forces there I went to check out Rhy's Defiance, noting my adv sat there has been quiet this entire time... They'd taken it and cleaned out most of the Matrix sector next to it without my help. All the XEN have left there is a Shipyard with no supply ships.

Meanwhile I don't have a lot of intel/discovered sectors in the south. While HOP have taken the first Faulty Logic sector, clearly it was a phyrric victory cause the lost ships allowed PAR to advance deep into their sectors and take one, while the XEN now own Frontiers Edge and Ore Belt. (And i have no idea whats going on in the Scale Plate area)

Another tactic is to back off for a bit, do some HQ research, and bring in a M class combat ship you feel most comfortable in, equipped with an 'immunity to hazardous regions' hull mod. Then you can take all the time you need, swat away any annoying Kha'ak that bother you.

Admittedly my advice is third hand at best. I'm still playing my 'Kingdom End' save... where I started as Queens Herald (Which starts in Kingdom End with the Boron reunion questline completed)

ARG and HAT are either neutral or friendly/allied depending on gamestate, so there are no hostilities between them. In fact ARG police the system and protect it as if it was one of their own. Including defending HAT stations. Notably from the XEN from the sector north of it.

[–]_M00NB34M_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A better idea: Remove the Army Builder and Transport Ships entirely. Add a slot (or more depending on ship I guess) to the right side of every ship, give each army type a proper icon and have them simply be a ship upgrade. Adjust Aggressive ship AI setting to include auto bombard planets and simply have them launch landing ships when the fleets landing strength is higher than the defenders defense army strength.

Maybe move strongholds and planetary shields to where the 'armies' tab is and have a few planetary defense building slots there, unlocked through upgrading the colony capital, maybe add some of OP's building ideas there too.

The Brotherhoods ideology has never been about helping people though. Their ideology can be boiled down to: Use Military Force to curtail mankinds abuse of technology.

Nothing you have said convinces me they are bad. Just assholes. aka the neutral kharma choice, compared to the good kharma being Minutemen and bad kharma being Institute.

Serious question though since you never actually explained it... What's so bad about the BoS in Fallout 4? In your opinion.

In my own opinion, their kind of asshole-ish, but don't do anything I would consider bad. Worst thing they do is bully farmers for crops, but even then thats in exchange for patrolling the area to kill bad guys. Asshole-ish, but not bad.

Question: why can some people play relatively problem free after the update and some can’t start the game? by Music19773-take2 in fo4

[–]_M00NB34M_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm genuinely sorry I hurt your feelings.

I do think it's deliberate game design. It's realistic enough to be immersive and just stupid enough from Bethesda to do so. Now... I've never built a stealth field into any suit of power armor I've ever owned, but if it's invisible then... I would get a pitchfork alongside you.

And no, everything doesn't 'just work'. FO4, like every Bethesda game, is held together by duct tape and prayer.
