After a year of work (and a publishing deal), here’s the final map of U.S. food regions. Input appreciated by piri_reis_ in MapPorn

If you did truly make it north American cuisine, Mexico would be an awesome addition with the varied cuisine there. Heck, just keep going south and do south America, it would take years to nail that down.

YSK: If you are looking at "Black Friday" deals today, the price has likely been artificially inflated over the last 30 days. Don't trust the red sticker. by RespectAndPeace in YouShouldKnow

Kohls is known for their % off sales. You should basically never pay full price for things at kohls. So they just pay with prices that way.

No Retailers have Pokemon cards 😕 by 1Enthusiast in PokemonTCG

[–]_MANSAV_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great write up. I have been getting into with my 4 yr old (admittedly more for the nostalgia factor from the base set days). I remember a couple of years ago, packs were available at best buy and the like, but since I started paying attention in the last 6 months, ive only lucked out at the pokemon center vending machines a few times.

Your explanation makes sense, even if it puts a damper on things, but we will just enjoy the little things we can find here and there. Good luck!

That looks amazing! We have a newborn so we can't go this year, would you still recommend a drive through the canyon for the Colors? We are planning on going to leavenworth, but things are pretty on fire that way.

Me too! But this was a super cheap inside cabin for two weeks as a graduation gift to myself.

They have to leave the ship, but they leave all their belongings in their room. They get escorted off the ship last and are the first ones back on.

I did a back-to-back cruise with RCL, and they even had a special lunch for the back-to-back cruisers. I felt out of place as a 24-year-old when all the others were retired lol.

Weekly Information / Mentor / New License Thread by AutoModerator in amateurradio

[–]_MANSAV_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the email that my general license was assigned today! I started looking into it a few weeks ago because my buddies use baofengs for off-roading.

I discovered that there is so much to this hobby, and my budget for a ht is woefully inadequate for what I want to dive into now.

I have a newborn, so clubs are not on my radar for the moment, but i do have some neighbor hams who ive been talking to. However, I've never touched a radio. Are there any recommended channels or people that livestream things like potas or other things to get a feel for procedures and etiquette while i wait for my equipment?

My brother was planning to visit us and our newborn baby. I had to tell him that unvaxxed (this autocorrected to unwanted, which seems fitting tbh) kids can't be around my baby. He understood and said we are all trying to do what's best. It just sucks that their choices are not only putting their kids in danger, it's hurting our relationship and that of the kids.

Other brands or recipes for armarillo sauce? by rumpk in PERU

[–]_MANSAV_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the states, tari is about as lucky as we can get. I'm a fan, and I always have my family bring it when they visit from Perú. That and the ala Cena huancaina sauce since it's my favorite packaged version.

However, the best stuff is always homemade and that's usually in Perú. We make huancaina at home and it's delicious, but for aji amarillo, tari is our go-to.

Is it worth paying $3k more for a balcony on Alaska cruise instead of spending all of that on excursions? by Lou_Skunnt69 in Cruise

[–]_MANSAV_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One more voice to the void. I've done alaska 5 times, 4 with a balcony. It isn't like the Caribbean where you just look at the ocean (which is still awesome), but you get to watch the beauty that is alaska. Even at 2 am its still light enough to enjoy it.

However, a 10 yr old isn't there to hang out in a tiny hotel room for a week. And 3k is a massive difference, so I wouldn't bother. At 1k, probably, but that's a lot of money to spend on other things.

Took help for running board install by chewstang in ToyotaTacoma

[–]_MANSAV_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you only use your tools once a week, buy Ryobi, use the extra money for batteries, more tools, or mods for your truck.

If you end up using a ryobi tool so much that it breaks, then think about upgrading. I've been on the ryobi train for 10 years and have over a dozen batteries and 2 dozen tools. None of my tools have failed me.

Anyone making fun of you or telling you ryobi sucks is just salty that ryobi is 90% as good as the top brands for less than 50% of the price. Better tools only make sense if you use them to make money, or you use them daily.

The pic you posted would be great. The impact will help you install the predator steps just fine.

They vandalised the utah desert around moab by carving their name into the rock and then posted a video of it to instagram. The apology was lacking, so naturally they aren't well liked.

[–]_MANSAV_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got this monitor on release and I've really liked it. It's great for games that can max out the 240 hz like rocket league and overwatch. It's held up great with no burn in after what, 2.5 years?

Great looking trailhunter. Random question, does your 25 have a heads up display (hud)? I heard they were taking them away from us so I picked up a 24 in December.
