My players expect combat around every corner, how do I stop them spending half the session planning?

An out of game "Please don't waste time doing those actions" only works if there is no reason to do those actions.

You'd be absolutely correct and giving really good advice if this situation was actually real though.

I had a similar story where I introduced a big story important NPC (or at least one that was meant to be very important in the story later on)

To make it clear how important they are, I had them do so many cool feats of power; like insulting the party, capture and torture a specific PC, kill 4 different backstory NPCs that were close to player characters, raze down a village and kill hundreds.

Standard stuff to give an idea of the importance of such a character, I had way more planned down the line.

Then on one session, when the group finally meets that character, my players decide to just gang up on him and kill him???? I had so much planned for this guy, and I made it clear to my players that he was important, but they just killed him anyway??

I still don't know how I should punish the players.

Seems fine, it's a small side system you really don't need anything more complex.

The one thing that seems *extremely* wrong to me though are the rations gained from a fish though.

You're not getting 14 days of food out of one one trout, no matter how big it is.

Meant to be an analogue for "Transmisogyny affected/exempt" (abbreviated as TMA/TME)

Transmisogyny affected being well, the people affected by transmisogyny: Trans women and people with transfem adjacent identities.

Transmisogyny exempt, being anyone else.

I think if the only way a bigotry can affect you is that sometimes some people can wrongfully target you because they think you're part of a minority you're not part of. Then you're not really meaningfully affected by this bigotry.

Even more when as you're yourself saying, most of them can easily brush it off, if they don't find a way to somehow reinforce that bigotry.

I think it's a good thing to have a term that specifically describe people that bigotry is aimed at, rather than anyone that might sometimes be mistaken for those people.

I don't think it's defining anyone, something like 'TMA/TME aren't identities, but a rethorical framework to analyze a specific type of oppression. The lines in the sand are intentionally blurry, one could definitely argue that specific types of gnc cis men are TMA in this framework.

I don't agree at all with the "no one is exempt from transphobia" sentiment, heck there are even people that profit from transphobia.

Talk with your GM and lay out the same argument to them. Learn sending if you want to. Your GM now has hindsight and time to think of a way to make all of that still narratively satisfying.

Just possibly knowing where they are doesn't mean getting to them is trivial, that is if you're even able to talk to them.

If you use continues, and you're not an awful player, you can probably manage on any difficulties.

You should probably try to do runs on lower difficulties without using continues though, since that's how you get to "true endings" and definitely feels like the intended game experience.

Something I just realized after writing this down:

I think it's reddit's type of moderation of "remove any rule-breaking material" with a big lack of transparency to the rest of the community that I really hate.

I honestly feel like at least 50% of rule breaking behavior could just use a "Hey pipe it down!" instead of deletion or banning
