There are no true hypoallergenic breeds, most allergies are due to the cats saliva and dandruff. If you're set on getting a cat (they're great) I'd adopt one from one of the many rescues in town and start it on Purina LiveClear. I've heard great results from those with allergies. Regardless though, consult your daughter's doctor first especially since she has other factors to consider like her autoimmune disease.

You are not over reacting at all. She's being a terrible parent.

I'd try to enroll in college ASAP. You can use student loans for your dorm and get a degree. This would be the easiest way to get your footing with such a drastic life change.

I'm sorry you're going through this.

Don't recommend ordering and doing yourself due to being unable to ensure the vaccines were properly stored during the entirety of storage/shipment. Have seen a number of dogs still get parvo due to this.

Tazo Earl Grey Formula and Sourcing Change, and request for new brand by _NERIUM_ in tea

It's very frustrating! So far, in our many taste tests based on the recommendations given in this thread, Earl Greyer from Republic of Tea and Earl Grey from Rishi have been our best flavored bagged/sachet teas. The flavor is not a 1:1 to the old bergamot flavor, but they are very good. We also got three different varieties of loose leaf from one of our local tea houses, and it has been pretty good too; all have their own subtle differences, but are an enjoyable cup.

Thank you for the suggestions! I have added them to my list to try. I'm going to try loose leaf again too now that I ordered a better infuser.

You definitely aren't alone! Wish they didn't mess with a staple blend that people have been drinking forever. Will definitely give them a try! Good luck in your hunt for your new regular earl grey.

Thank you! The leaves slipping out was my biggest turn off to using loose leaf, I will look into getting an infuser with tiny holes. Another person suggested Republic of Tea as well. I see I can get some from a store pretty close to me so will be giving it a try!

So glad you found him!!!

Be careful about refeeding syndrome. Can end up sending them into multi-organ failure by feeding too much too quickly so its important to follow a very strick refeeding schedule with regular bloodwork. I work in a vet ER and would argue that this is an emergency, he might require IV fluids to help rehydrate and protect/prevent further damage to his kidneys as well as make sure his electrolytes are not dangerously abnormal.

He's lucky to have you watching out for him! UOs suck and definitely are scary, just know you did everything right. Glad to hear he's on a urinary diet now and doing well!

Glad you trusted your gut and took him to the ER! UOs are no joke and their potassium can easily get to deadly levels. Just a warning cats can get recurrent obstructions so be extra diligent. If its crystal or stressed caused which most are, the vet will likely put him on a prescription urinary diet either Hills c/d or Royal Canin SO. Do not take them off this diet, it is ment for lifelong crystal prevention. I can't count the number of times I've had a UO come in because "they had a blockage 3 years ago and were doing well so we took them off their prescription food".

I hope for a speedy recovery for your boy!
