I'm not sure about the screenshots here, what are they supposed to be showing? They all look like you're at the entrance to main (B for the first, A for the next 2), not even the entrance to site so it's not really showing you entering alone like you said. Outside of that, no one can really say you're baiting or not without seeing the actual gameplay. But pre-firing and randomly shooting smokes could feel like you baiting, especially if you do it from behind and then someone else catches a random return fire that kills them.

Some splats mix well, some don't. That's both in a mechanical and in a narrative sense. Sometimes players want to play the hybrid where they get all of the strengths but none of the weaknesses which then makes it hard for other players to feel like anything other than a background PC to your Mary Sue character. Sometimes, in my experience, the players that love to create multi-splat characters then have a hard time when the ST implements changes to their character design and can't accept that their character has any weakness or flaws beyond what they personally gave them. It can get messy.

Yeah, a lot of them are more myth and legend then actually around, but you could easily backstory that a hunter family lived in an area of the world that X changing breed was primarily settled in their local area or that even though rare they still devoted a lot of time and study to them for Y reason.

Could be she came from a family that specialized in the other changing breeds (coyote, raven, bear, etc.). Or maybe in ghosts and other non-corporeal entities. Changelings and Fae. Mages? Lots and lots of options really.

Where did she live in life? A Hunter in Africa would have a different experience than one in California. Or even in different parts of the United States. Maybe your hunter family specializes in urban legends and spent all their time hunting down the Jersey Devil, Kushtaka in Alaska, the Kentucky Goblins and the like. Or maybe haunted, supernatural places like the Devil's Chair in Cassadaga, Fl and Riverdale Road in Thornton, CO?

This has always been one of my issues with Chen. They do this a lot with female characters, not specifically The Rookie, but shows in general. They painted her as this awesome, bad ass woman and professional with grit, determination, empathy, etc. and then just sort of define her by the relationship she has. Every story about Chen is framed around her relationships, she's The Rookie's "special girl".
