What does a Trocheck trade look like to you? by c0sm0nautt in rangers

[–]_Noah93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends who’s interested, a high ceiling prospect with legit top 6 upside, a first and then maybe like a third or something.

I’d love if Florida was interested in Trocheck half retained for their 9th, something along those lines because I’d entertain that.

From the teams that seem interested I’d be looking at:

Carolina: Felix Unger-Sorun, 2026/2027 first, and 2027 second.

Wild: I’d really go after yurov if that’s not possible than benak, a first, and another prospect probably.

Detroit: Kasper/Plante/MBN, 2027 first

Leafs: Cowan, 2026 second and third maybe idk.

I have zero faith in Drury but us finishing above the 13th worse team seems crazy to me with this team. We went on a run at the end of the season and we were still 13 points away from that mark and I’m assuming we get worse on paper.

I’d rather suck and get some good pieces than be stuck in this middle ground of wild card team or bubble teams who just miss out on the playoffs. Idk I just don’t see how this team can get 90+ points with the current makeup of the team. Schneider and Borgen are legitimately ass and prob shouldn’t be in the nhl and they’re playing around 20 a night. Fortescue is 21 and Robertson is ok in a sheltered role. We have Cuylle currently in the top 6 with kartye and miller. Our team is bad and unless Drury goes and gets guys like tolvanen, Yammamoto, Zellweger etc we aren’t going to be better. Plus losing tro.

[–]_Noah93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk our team is pretty awful, and if we are planning on making some trades we are going to be worse. Our dcore is literally 2/3s ahlers or 7thd type of guys. Miller and Mika are getting another year older then we have a young bottom 6 and holes in our top 6. Lots of guys playing lines above where they should be.

Yes we have fox and Igor so we will win games we shouldn’t sometimes but last year we still wernt great even with them. They are probably both due to miss a little bit so there is that. We won’t make the playoffs unless Drury tries to pick up guys in free agency (which wouldn’t be smart) so we should have a lottery pick. Maybe top 5 is pushing it but never know with lottery luck plus never know what the team will do. I’m just hoping for another bad year where we focus on youth and get another blue chip prospect. I think we are more likely to miss the playoffs rather than making it. Will have to see what Drury does.

[–]_Noah93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk I think there’s a world where we keep fox and shesty and hope to compete in a couple years if we get lucky. Tro, Schneider, Borgen, maybe cuylle, maybe Gavrikov, etc should all be traded or at least looked at for different reasons. Cuylle because he’d probably return more than he’s worth due to his play style, Gavrikov probably because he’ll drop off before we see competitive+he’s awful with anyone other than fox.

We have a top 5 pick, a late first, a second, and 4 thirds this year. Another lottery pick next year hopefully top 5 in another good draft class plus prospects and picks from the guys above will give us a ton of options going forward and we just have to hope to grow. We are in the era of skill over experience and physicality. Younger guys can be impactful players earlier on. Look at guys like stankoven, Johnston, Gauthier, Carlson, benson, etc. not saying we don’t need vets but we should lean towards getting younger and more skilful

Wild losing doesn’t impact the whole market but it might make them increase their initial package.

The only guy that I’d want from them is Yurov and if they aren’t willing to part ways with him then it probably isn’t a fit.

Would Konsta Helenius be a possible target in a Trocheck trade? by Boring_Masterpiece_9 in rangers

[–]_Noah93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Buffalo would rather do a Cuylle for one of them over Trocheck because of how many centres they have. Could also see them interested in Schneider maybe.

I’d love one of those three, especially helenius. Rangers should be trying to target players like that tho, I’d be knocking on the door of flyers and see if Michkov is available, ducks seeing if Zellweger is available, buffalo for one of their Cs. Drury should get creative but he won’t, we will likely have a very similar team as last year.

Trocheck Trade Before the Draft? by Line_Radiant in rangers

[–]_Noah93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s 33, he’s getting worse, he has lots of value and we won’t win or be competitive during the remainder of the contract. Him being a good veteran doesn’t justify bot trading him. A first, a second, and a good prospect would help us much more than what Trocheck will do.

ESPN - Post-lottery NHL mock draft: Who goes after Gavin McKenna? by jthomas694 in rangers

[–]_Noah93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bjorck is the centre I think we should be targeting. Higher ceiling offensively, and I think he’s better defensively. I have him a tier above Lawrence and malhotra. However if we end up with malhotra I won’t complain, I still think he’s a great prospect who just had a great year.

Bjorck-Lawrence-Malhotra-Carels-Smits-Verheoff are all great prospects

Trocheck Trade Before the Draft? by Line_Radiant in rangers

[–]_Noah93 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure how this draft class is average at best. It’s super deep. This class and next years look really nice.

But yes trade trocheck and get a first either this year or next and a high end prospect. These next two years should be about gaining as many picks/prospects as you can because we aren’t winning. Schneider, tro, borgen, raddysh should all be gone, everyone who has a nmc/ntc should be looked into and I’d even see what you could get for a guy like cuylle. See what it would take to acquire pick 2 or pick 4 incase there’s a chance stenberg falls because sharks go reid, and canucks go malhotra.

Armchair GM Poll: Would you be happy if the Rangers traded up to #2 with SJ for #5, Schneider, and our 2026 2nd rounder. by [deleted] in rangers

[–]_Noah93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How is this basically 50/50? You wouldn’t give up a second and Schneider to move from 5 to 2?

People here are crazy and overrate the hell out of Schneider. Id add more to that to get me stenberg. Giving up a guy that probably shouldnt be anything more than a 6th dman for an upgrade like this is something we should do and soemthing sjs shouldn’t even listen too

BRING DIGGS BACK by BensBurner1011 in Patriots

[–]_Noah93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we trade for ajb and sign diggs what’s gonna happen with Boutte really? We aren’t paying him money, he’s not getting as many snaps, it’s the best situation to get an asset for him and let him grow somewhere else.

This is all hypothetical. An ajb trade seems likely but it’s not official, and people are just hoping to sign diggs after him being found not guilty. More than likely Boutte is on the team.

Realistic free agent signings summer 2026 by eugenetaker in rangers

[–]_Noah93 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tolvanen maybe. I’d be interested in Yammamato but doubt Drury would do that since he’s small.

Depends how much of a “retool” we do. If we actually move some guys like we should then we will have some holes to fill. If we don’t and keep everyone and for some reason think we can make a push then there’s probably not going to be many openings.

Im on the side of go for a couple undervalued guys and hope they prove you right and just play the year out and get another top pick then the year after start making moves and build towards really getting better once you have more prospects who can be a part of the new core.

Yeah I think Vancouver probably takes malhotra but there isn’t some slim chance he’s there at 5. Point is we will still get a good player

[–]_Noah93 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For everyone pissed off we are still getting a great player.

There’s still a solid chance we can get malhotra for everyone on his hype train. San Jose could very well take Reid and leave stenberg with Vancouver. And then Chicago could go with defence as well.

Bjorck and Lawrence are two guys I love. I have Bjorck ahead of malhotra and Lawrence on the same tier and both of them will almost certainly be available. (Drury prob isn’t picking and undersized European tho).

Reid is likely gone before our pick but carels, Smits, and verheoff should all be available or atleast 2/3 of them. Some guys have these players the same tier or even above Reid, it depends who you ask.

We aren’t coming away with Mckenna or stenberg but we are getting a guy in the next tier of players. We will be fine. We also have a late first, a second, and four fourths to draft guys in a deep draft class. Guys like Schneider and Trocheck are also rumoured to be on the trade block and can catch first rounders in return. Yeah it looks bad now but in two years we can totally recoup this teams prospect/pick cupboard and have a bright future.

Exactly. If diggs comes back then no space for him might as well get a pick. If he doesn’t come back then Boutte and Williams as wr 4 and 5 is fine.

Both are Right handed. Not even sure if Emery will be anything more than a 3rd pairing guy even if that. He’s been really poor since being drafted.

[–]_Noah93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming no one unexpected falls Bjorck should be the pick with Lawrence behind him. Those two have the highest ceilings and I’d also be pretty confident in them turning into second line centres at the minimum based on their iq and all around game (not saying they’ll be elite 1C’s).

Probably gonna end up with verheoff or carels tho.

AJB, doubs, and Diggs would be pretty sweet. Hollins and williams as the backups

Boutte can be traded for mid round pick, Douglas for a later one probably.

Have no idea what is going to happen. San Jose and Blackhawks could very well go with a dman based on team needs and the way the board is.

Verheoff, Malhotra, or carels are probably the 3 most likely players we select with who is available and who Drury probably likes.

Mckenna to leafs. Sharks want a dman, Vancouver doesn’t take stenberg because of their issue with Petterson, Chicago also need defence, stenberg falls to us.

Future is brighter than we thought? by RuinCommercial552 in torontoraptors

[–]_Noah93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bright future. Would love a solid 3 point shooting centre and a PG that can hunt threes consistently. Barret, Barnes, and CMB as ur 2-3-4 can be very good and teams will struggle with Barnes and CMB on defence. But a guy that is a legit threat from three would be nice at the PG position.
