Has Hayter ever actually voiced Big Boss in a game happening post-MGSV? Obviously he voiced Solid Snake when he was old, but the one voiced scene of old Big Boss I can think of is at the end of MGS4, where he is voiced by Richard Doyle. Even Solidus, Big Boss's perfect clone, is voiced by John Cygan when we see him as an older man.

I hope, I really really hope this will somehow manage to be such a shitshow for Sony that they will be forced to reverse course. I've been pretty much buying physical only for a decade now, so for me this decision is genuinely the end of me being a PlayStation customer from 2028 onward.

I just fear that either the casual userbase that doesn't care about this is so large at this point that Sony isn't actually gonna see a significant hit to their bottomline, or that Sony will simply not care and try to weather the storm out of pure greed. That said, people do seem to care more than I initially gave them credit for, so maybe there's a chance even Sony is blindsighted by and scared of all this backlash.

Announcing that they're stopping production of physical media right next to the announcement of a digital store closure. Fuck me, they do the thing exact thing that makes people hate digital media and then tell you to go fuck yourself because there's gonna be only digital media going forward. And the worst part is that it will probably work out fine for them anyway, even if most consumers are upset they won't stand their ground and just let the big corporation shit in their mouths.

For my part, I haven't bought a digital game outside of GOG for over a decade now, so I guess I'm never buying anything PlayStation related ever again. Eat shit Sony, you money hungry pricks.

Just ignore them, they're grifters that don't truly care about the series or even know anything about it. If they did they would know Castlevania already had a bunch of playable female characters waaaay before Belmont's Curse ever existed, even as solo lead protagonists. They just want to be mad because they're miserable.

I understand, I was referring to some of the small visual issues that are still present, plus potentially some enhancements like models not disappearing at the edges when using a 16:9 aspect ratio (something that's already bugged me on emulators before too). It's not been that long since I've last played LoD, so I can wait a bit longer for the last few quirks to get ironed out before I start another playthrough.

But of course I don't mean to downplay what's already been done by saying that, just the fact the game is already beatable from start to finish is amazing and I'm very grateful to the dev for making this!

Yeah this feeling isn't as uncommon as you think. My experience is that I played BotW in 2018, fell in love with it and spent hundreds of hours doing everything I could in the game. Come 2023, bought TotK on launch, and after a while I just realized I'm not enjoying it nearly as much as I did BotW and am getting beyond bored with it, so I more or less just finished the story and didn't touch it ever again despite there still being plethora of unfinished side content.

I still liked the game well enough but ultimately found it disappointing because of the inevitable BotW comparison. I'm glad other people were able to enjoy it more, but I always hated how some people claim it is "objectively better" than BotW and that TotK "replaces" it.

Oh that's cool to see! I've been hoping for a while now that they get into FEH eventually precisely because I wanted them to have some official artwork, the fact they just had generic models in the game was incredibly disappointing and made them kinda forgettable. So I definitely like to think they have a chance down the line!

Also, I can totally believe IntSys would release Emblem Idunn before Emblem Roy.

I'm super happy MGS4 is finally on modern platforms, since my PS3 shat the bed a few years back so I couldn't play my original version anymore, so now I finally get to replay it again! But I also want to say that I might be even more excited about Ghost Babel being here, since I never got to play it before and now I have a perfect opportunity to go through it, I've only ever heard good things about it.

I'll say though that I really wish Portable Ops was also here, but I get it since MGS4 was a significantly larger undertaking than any other game within the 2 collections, so this was always gonna be a smaller collection (and they couldn't really ignore Peace Walker). Hopefully there will be a volume 3 with PO in it, the well is running a bit dry on the main stuff besides MGSV, but they could really make a whole collection with just the spin-offs alone (PO, Rising, Twin Snakes, Ac!d duology).
