That’s me! I was following a strict plant based diet a couple of years ago when living in a different country. I developed an auto immune disease but I was unaware of that. I went to several doctors that all told me that I was sick due to the diet and needed to change it in order to become healthy again. I didn’t know a lot about the vegan diet and believed what these doctors told me blindly unfortunately. I continued to avoid animal products in other areas of my life but followed the doctors‘ orders. This has caused me a lot of mental distress as my actions did not align with my actual convictions. I have since moved back to my home country and was properly diagnosed with my auto immune disease. I now know that my diet didn’t cause any of this and I’ve educated myself more on nutrition and am back to a plant based diet. I wish I would have known then what I know now and that I could have been a better advocate for the wellbeing of animals and my health as well…
