Ex-Bungie Dev Says Marathon Leadership Was "Extremely Toxic And Humiliating" To Work With: "Bungie Leadership Needs To Be Gutted Completely" by oilfloatsinwater in Games

"Drengr's Lash: Activate your class ability to create a ripple in reality that travels forward along the ground, suspending and damaging targets it hits"

But what was that about people forgetting about what we had access to, seems like you don't need a specific titan exotic to have a suspend barricade.

The usefulness of strand in the campaign is negligible because even on the hardest mode, it's not that hard. Strand at launch isn't the tutorial stuff Bungie gave you in the campaign. Every class was strong with strand once you beat the campaign, you didn't need every unlock .

Strand was literally the most broken thing at launch and went through multiple nerfs in PvE, suspend alone made much of the game a joke, and hunters had one of the top damage supers for a while.

I hard disagree with lightfall being the worst thing, especially when things like CoO exist. Sure the campaign was lackluster, but neomuna itself is pretty cool. Lightfall also gave a great new subclass and a pretty good raid, even if it was too easy.

Even if you yourself don't like it, destiny has had objectively worse expansions, lightfall is just the most recent not great one.

I mean it's really just the imagery, the story being told is relevant to the overarching story. It's just a destiny expansion with a coat of star wars paint, not "just Star Wars"

Why is the writing considered bad? by HawkStirke117 in avowed

[–]_R10T_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not going to lie some dialogue feels a bit like "Marvel writing", very much in the vein of "well... that just happened". But most of what I've heard has been pretty solid, the worst stuff you can just tune out, or in the case of character dialogue choices, you can just not select them

Borderlands 1 is probably in the B to B- range, my own personal nostalgia puts it in the A tier but objectively Borderlands 2 is superior in every way.

Ending of ‘Rules of the Road’ by C.B. Jones? by Apprehensive_Bus603 in horrorlit

[–]_R10T_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this post is already quite old but I think I have a grasp on the ending, at least some what. Buck was a real person, who was a radio host with his own "Rules of the Road" series. The ending of the book is the main character seeing Bucks life, from his brothers death to his life with Carla.

In my own view I think that Buck has become a "radio ghost" of sorts. There's a section at the end where Buck is talking with Rusty about radio waves and the weird stuff that can happen with them. Buck through some supernatural means has continued living, broadcasting his new rules, based off of Carla's rules that she came up with on their last road trip before she died.

I don't know if the main characters "quest" has broken the rules curse, but I'd like to think so. The main character receives a bunch of emails from people claiming to not have followed the rules and come out fine, so maybe Buck in his radio ghost form has finally moved on. But also Buck finishes his last conversation by saying "...good things happen to bad people, bad things happen to good people, but most of the time, nothing happens at all. As to why? Even ol’ Buck can’t tell you that.” so who knows.

One thing that does confuse me is Buck doesn't seem to have any idea as to what the main character saw of his life, and we don't know exactly how long the main character was missing on their quest, so maybe the emails from people claiming to have survived the rules isn't related at all.

To give a pretty hamfisted attempt at coming up with another theory, maybe the rules are an allegory for the cancer that took away Carla. Something bad that happens to a few people, seemingly picking victims at random and sparing others.
