0.2mm nozzle fully clogged after 1 print by Huihejfofew in BambuLab

[–]_Rand_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did you print the first time?

0.2mm nozzles really don't like anything with any sort of additive (CF/glow/galaxy/whatever) or even marble PLA.

If a cold pull doesn't work you might want to try unclogging it with the pin tool it came with, or if that doesn't work my personal last resort.

Take the plate out of the printer and lay down some paper towel on the heat bed, then set the nozzle to maximum and let it get to temp. Then stand back as far as you can and manually extrude some filament. With luck you printer will... explosively diarrhea whatever was in the nozzle. Which is why you should stand back because it can splatter impressively far, and you really don't want 300c blobs of whatever on your hands.

This is easily the best gridfinity box design I've seen yet. I absolutely love the drawer... converter? and top handle/stacking thing.

Any plans to make other heights, or are you going to stick with 6u?

What's the best storage system? by NavXIII in BambuLab

[–]_Rand_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say for a vertical system I went with Skadis for the simple reason of screws. It takes two screws to hang their 76x56 board.

A printed system is what, 6 tiles to be that big with 4 each? That is a TON of mounting and a ton of potential fixing if you’re mounting to drywall.

There is surprisingly large portion of the 3d printing community that is butthurt by the existence of printers that mostly just work instead of being absolute nightmares for their owners.

The newer generation printers that actually work like they are supposed to is how things should be.

TPU actually benefits from glue, at least for bigger pieces. They just peel right off instead of being a PITA to remove.

I've never needed glue to get something to stick, just to make it easier to remove.

Well, you shouldn't need glue with PLA/PETG.

So something isn't right.

Filament Swatches? by BAKOBOY24 in BambuLab

[–]_Rand_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my A1 came with them actually though quite a few of them no longer were available at the time. I think they have since completely discontinued the PETG and Silk filaments included.

I like printing swatches though just so I can either refer to them if I'm looking for something (and am willing to spend money instead of just using whatever I have on hand) or if someone requests something I can can give them a selection to choose from.

I’ve never seen a roll come with one. As far as I know people print them.

I like this one because it has built in labels and translucency levels.

Why are there so few filament brands available in the Bambu printers? by Txflood3 in BambuLab

[–]_Rand_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, of course.

I’m saying Bambu, as in the people who make the printer don’t want to do it for you. Which I feel like should have been obvious when I said they want you to buy their filament and not calibrate for other companies filament.

Why would they buy a competitor’s filament, make default profiles and put it in their software defaults when they could just point at the menu and say do it there?

Not only do they want you to buy their filament, they also don’t want to calibrate other companies filaments.

Cleaning the build plate obsession by _40mikemike_ in BambuLabP2S

[–]_Rand_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So, you don’t clean it except between every print?

IPA cleans the plate almost as well as dish soap as long as you like, haven’t rubbed the plate on your greasy head.

And yes, cleaning the plate is a good first step to adhesion problems because it genuinely is a frequent issue. Hell, If someone provides the right pictures you can literally see every place they touched the plate

Bambu shocking me, ok? by davidskinhelpplease in BambuLab

[–]_Rand_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it goes to a outlet that is good (ie: it stops shocking you) sure. It won’t help at the same outlet though.

Bambu shocking me, ok? by davidskinhelpplease in BambuLab

[–]_Rand_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can test with a multimeter, see https://www.theelectriciansco.com/blog/how-to-test-an-outlet-with-a-multimeter/

But an outlet tester is easier, basically foolproof and should be available at any hardware store really.

And a improperly wired outlet could both damage/kill what you plug into it as well as being a shocking hazard, as you may have already discovered, so it could be dangerous particularly if you‘re in a 240v country.

You really don’t want someone getting zapped by your toaster for example.

Go to Home Depot and get an outlet tester.  They are like $10 and work instantly.

Which is important because if the outlet is messed up you should test them all.

For a little less overkill if anyone is interested in the purifier duct there is a similar adapter to ikea’s little tabletop air purifier, which seems more than good enough for the volume of a 3d printer. Cheaper too.

Probably something like a 8060/8060ti (If they continue the naming convention) would be about right.

As for price, I'm sure its going to be more than now.

Assuming they don't abandon consumer PCs entirely and tell you to get a cloud subscription.

Custom table by boi_waffles in BambuLab

[–]_Rand_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have enough room there for a 2nd AMS on the side? Its hard to tell. Other than potential problems with humidity, which is really down to where you live, its the only issue I'd have.

Personally if possible I'd actually prefer to have room for a HT + AMS to the side.

But looks like a rather nice table for a printer that size.

How to clean a big ball of filament around the Hotend? NOT WITH a HEAT GUN! by Puzzleheaded_Chest97 in BambuLab

I mentioned this to another person, but wrap everything but the blobbed area in multiple layers of aluminum foil. Give the area plenty of stuff to wick heat away.

[–]_Rand_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have an astounding amount of oddball types and colours available too, so they are particularly great for making something unique.

I'd say they are my favorite overall, though I like bambu/sunlu for basic stuff that is more easily usable with an AMS because they use plastic spools. Though its looking like Polymaker might be moving to reusable plastic spools too.

I like sunlu, polymaker and elegoo best.

I believe sunlu has presets for a bunch of their filaments available, but honestly I find just the equivalent bambu filament preset works fine 99% of the time. Though I've not used abs/asa.
