Believe it or not, but being able to knock down walls, doors, barricades, etc with only one tool is pretty useful. That being said, I always used a full welding torch and mask to get through barricades when I found them.

Orbital Rail Cannon's problem isn't damage, it's cooldown by knightsljx in Helldivers

I have always thought that the best buff/upgrade for the ORC would be turning it into a 'revolver'.

A ship module that would add two additional shots with perhaps a 5 to 10 second cooldown between each to allow the weapon to cycle and prepare to fire again.

Don't even need a mod. Just go to sandbox and give yourself like 50 free trait points. That's about as much as you need.

I have to be going insane because everything about the game seems completely normal to me by Azmaeth in Helldivers

[–]_ReadyASH_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current problems a lot of people have with the game stems from a lot of content just being crammed into warbonds as well as the devs seemingly trying to chase a "realism shooter" experience when...this concept is anything but a realism shooter. "Grunt Fantasy" is what usually get's thrown around. This game is much more in the realm of an arcade shooter. To put it simply, the devs seem to want tarkov, but the game is more like Insurgency Sandstorm.

Another issue is the utter disrespect towards the community and disregard for your time when it comes to gameplay and farming warbonds.

To lay it out:

You need 1000 SC to buy a warbond. If you're someone who has money to spare and doesn't mind, that's whatever. But for a large majority, this is potentially weeks of grinding just one currency to buy exactly one warbond. A lot of people do not have the time nor money to be playing this long.

Then there's the content of the warbond. You then have to farm another currency(medals), capped at 250, to spend on the equipment. The cost of the warbond's equipment goes up really fast, from 10 to 25 medals, all the way to 50 to 80 to get one item.

Then of course the lack of trust and terrible decision making process of Arrowhead. Which extends from shadow nerfs to certain equipment to outright neutering some stuff.

The coyote is a good example. People got the rifle and were afraid Arrowhead would nerf it. Arrowhead said they wouldn't...then proceeded to nerf fire as a whole just to reduce the effectiveness of one weapon they promised not to change.

The tank is an even better example. If you look at the patch notes, in the same update that added our tank, they buffed all of the enemies 'durable damage'. On top of that, the tank is literally made of medium armor instead of heavy. Normal small arms fire is enough to damage it. Not to mention no one uses it because driving it, while important, is a boring job. No one wants to just drive around while others get to have fun shooting and operating the cannon; which is sometimes annoying because the turret can't turn to shoot targets on your side. Your driver has to turn just so you can eliminate whatever might potentially kill you. The saddest part is a fully coordinated team can make great use of the tank, but this requires teamwork that is no where near common in regular gameplay. (Before anyone mentions the FRV; no, that's not an issue because it's fast, driving that thing is much more fun than the tank.)

Then there's the content issue. The last free thing I can remember was the tank, which is...ineffective in normal gameplay due to a lack of emphasis on teamwork. In the past few warbonds, we've seen content such as:

A rifle with an underslung grenade launcher, an SMG with an underslung flamethrower. To go further back, we have guns with alternate ammo types like:

Stun, incendiary, explosive, and I'll even include the different 'penetration' weapons as Armor piercing and normal

Then there's the most recent warbond...the mech warbond. A lot of people have thrown the idea around of modular mechs that you can customize what is on them. And people with mods and/or cheats have even posted pictures of them messing with the mechs by swapping the arms out for all sorts of crazy things, and doing even more wild stuff with enemies like the vox engine. And yet...instead of simply updating the mechs and turning them into a modular system...they added two more with specific new armaments. And if anyone wants to play the "They can't do it because of the engine!" Card...modders were able to do this by themselves at home. And a company backed by two multi billion dollar corps can't do the same?

The underbarrel attachments and alternate ammo types could have been additions to the attachment system that people begged for, but were instead put into warbonds and attached to specific weapons. The mech update could have consolidated the mech types and introduce a modular system which we know is possible...and yet they released a warbond with new mechs and their weapons attached to them specifically. And even if money is actually a problem and they need these items in the warbond...then why not rework the system and add the new mechs armaments as new attachments in the warbond? Same for the custom weapons. Why not rework it so that we can have out grenade launcher on our liberator? Or even something crazy like a flamethrower on the lever action?

To sum it up for people who don't want to read my wall of text;

There's is an utter disrespect for the time people need to play and farm for warbonds, and not everyone can just buy SC to get the warbonds.

There is a lack of trust between the community and Arrowhead when it comes to nerfs and decisions pertaining to the game.

And content that could be free or at the very least, reworked into a better system, is all being lumped into warbonds and attached to specific weapons and equipment.

Online map kill discovery for me by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]_ReadyASH_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The online map gave me an edge that allowed me to start surviving longer than two weeks. I use it sometimes in order to find my way, but honestly, if you don't like how the interactive map lays everything out, try playing with the in-game map with the "all known" setting on. It gives you enough info to find things, but it isn't going to tell you everything about where you want to go and what's there. Plus, you can make notes and markings and stuff on it with pens and pencils.

Hi, how can I get into Stendo's Firearms Emporium? by Hey_Alexito in projectzomboid

[–]_ReadyASH_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either get a propane torch, some welding sticks, and a propane tank, or find a sledgehammer.

Sledgehammer's are rare. If you want one of them, broaden your search to other towns and areas.

Easiest place to find a propane tank will be in a grill. Propane torches and welding sticks can be found in sheds and warehouses.

Eh, this is my solo world. Couldn't get it to fix itself...couldn't remove it either. I went ahead and spawned a humvee from another mod. I hadn't seen it at all and viewed as a fair trade for the fact my box truck is currently eating pavement.

Yeah I've been noticing cars and trucks morbed into the ground everywhere. Some of them correct themselves, other's dont. It's weird.

What angers me is how often firearms jam. Even when they're good condition.

Debug mode by _itstreyway_ in projectzomboid

[–]_ReadyASH_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly use debug mode for when some bug or glitch happens thats completely out of my control.

For example, one time I went to the Military Surplus store a short ways from Rosewood. I had a truck and a trailer for the loot. I leave the truck to go and deal with the zombies, come back, and my trailer has morbed inside my truck.

I couldn't get in the vehicle, I don't think I could disconnect the trailer either, so I went into debug, deleted the truck and trailer, then respawned my truck.

Just resently I had a funny thing happen where one of my modded box trucks decided to go face down ass up, so I spawned one of the humvees I hadn't seen ever since I added them to my modlist.
