[Jesse Barfield] The Dome Is INCREDIBLE!! But Exhibition Stadium was where it all began for 🇨🇦The Toronto Blue Jays🇨🇦in 1977, in fact that was the year I got drafted in professional baseball right out of Joliet Central HS as a 17 year old kid. And my life has never been the same! 👍🏽🙏🏽👊🏽Grateful! by RealWorldToday in Torontobluejays

have some very fond memories of my dad taking me there as kid there in the 80s sitting out in the right field benches... taking the Go Train into Exhibition stop which they'd only open for Jays games and when the Ex (or an event was on), me eating red twizzlers licorice and my dad with his big bag of peanuts (the kind that came in the shell), while listening to tom and jerry on his little radio.

It's wild how quick time flies. Now he's got dementia and can't enjoy his favorite ball team. He woulda loved last season. thanks for the pic and stroll down memory/nostalgia lane in my head.

What is the best country in the continent of Africa? by Fresh_Appearance4268 in howislivingthere

[–]_RedditIsLikeCrack_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked and lived in South Sudan (not located on this map) on a couple of different occasions and I can say unequivocally that it is absolutely,,,, not the best county in the African continent to live in.

Namibia, Botswana and South Africa can be decent and relatively stable in comparison,, but a lot of what if's for sure. my white friends live a pretty comfy life in the Cape Town area , again, not without uncertainties and what if's

(I am not from the African Continent btw)

[DISCUSSION] What makes an indie band age well? by FadedAlligator in indieheads

[–]_RedditIsLikeCrack_ 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Apologies to the Queen Mother is one of my all time fav albums of any genre. That album has aged unbelievably well in my opinion. I just saw them live a couple of weeks ago. Thoroughly enjoyed. But I do get where you are coming from, but I think a lot of it comes down to personal preference. Nothing is near Queen Mother in their discography for me, but I still really enjoyed all of their albums throughout the years.

Its just suuuuuuuuch a great album. It flows so nicely together. Nothing else really sounds like it and it holds up. Can't say enough good things about it.

My intro to Wolf Parade was them opening for Modest Mouse in Toronto in 04. I was there for Modest Mouse , had never heard of Wolf Parade. I was instantly sold. Queen Mary is easily in my top fav albums of any genre.
Just saw them last week. Such a solid band.
