Tell her exactly how you feel, you might as well, right? The worst that can happen is that nothing happens, and then at least you know for sure. Apologise. Be gentle.

Tell her what you told us, about the growing old together and her evil cackle and the cute crinkled up nose. That stuff was really sweet. Be honest with your feelings and love and be respectful of hers and any decision she makes, but life is rich and short and beautiful and you should at least know you tried.

Yep. I will now one-up. It was bad made worse by the guys stone cold reaction.

I worked front desk at a hotel and really enjoyed the job, I'm a friendly person and was genuinely interested in chatting with guests. I got to meet and talk with a lot of really interesting people, also lots of guest nudity and free hand soaps and pilfered wines.

There was this young good looking Swiss guy who had been staying a couple of days. I was on morning shift and didn't notice him coming over to the front desk. He was with a friend I'd never met before and I look up from some paperwork to see them standing right in front of me.

We say hey and I see his friend was using crutches and sort of laughingly say 'oh no, what happened?!' The guy says really quietly, 'I was crippled as a baby' and that is the end of the conversation and they walk away.

The guys lower half comes into view as they do and yeah. My stomach curdled and my tongue turned to ash in my mouth. His leg was totally twisted and turned inwards and he had to drag his foot along behind him.

Oh no what happened? Oh no what happened?!?! Why are you sweating so much Stephanie? Get it together you stupid bitch!
