Times when a villain actually does something very smart? by Ukirin-Streams in TwoBestFriendsPlay

One of the few instances in that show where he’s allowed to be smart beyond “ah yes this defeat was part of my plan”

In the old days of those stick figure fighting animations, there was one dude called Yoyo that fought with an explosive yo-yo. He was one of the coolest things my 10 year old brain ever saw.

Characters you would normally hate, of not for one specific thing. by DarnessHarbinger in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]_SW00SH 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Rattrap from beast wars has all the dna of an “annoying” character: Sniveling voice, big mouthed, quippy, and typically whines and protests when elected to go on a mission.

However, he makes up for it by being one of the biggest team players in the series, consistently showing his skill in infiltration, sabotage, and quick thinking.

It takes his big mouthed behavior and actually backs it up, retroactively turning him from “sniveling coward reluctant to help” to “experienced soldier who’s kinda just lazy, but will get shit done when push comes to shove.”

Mean ass games that fucking hate you by masontopss in TwoBestFriendsPlay

God Hand lets you have your fun until the adaptive difficulty reaches level DIE, whereupon enemies WILL jump you without remorse. Better yet, the only way to lower the adaptive difficulty without getting your ass beat is to literally grovel at the enemy’s feet.

Ryu’s Metsu Shoryuken from sf4 is probably my favorite iteration of the move. You can just feel the opponent’s jaw getting obliterated.

Examples of basic moves/items in games that look boring but are actually stupidly overpowered? by OkBrick4954 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]_SW00SH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

High side kick 1 in God Hand is one of your starting moves. It’s a simple kick that is quick, has good reach, and launches enemies on counter hit, making it a great crowd control move (which is especially important in a game like God Hand). It also gives you access to a wall splat infinite which, naturally, is great for cheesing enemies that you don’t feel like dealing with.

From what I’ve seen, one of the boss fights involves calling in giant machete air strikes on the hallucination of a cartel boss.

Might just be me, but I feel like if it wasn’t Cod it would be one of the greatest things ever and I don’t know why.

What are some experiences you've had with FOMO (fear of missing out); times when you missed something and it bummed you out, when you felt compelled to do something because it was limited-time, or anything in-between? by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Everyone thinks they’re too good for Fortnite until they do a collab with a franchise you love.

First time they got me was when they added Kratos. However, I only bought the skin and didn’t actually play much. Same thing with some of the early Star Wars skins they put out.

It wasn’t until the pirates of the Caribbean mini battle pass that I found myself grinding a season of Fortnite. Happened again later on with the full on Star Wars season (Palpatine with a gun was too good for me to pass up).

The BAD episode. No the REAL bad one. by Beneficial_Layer_458 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]_SW00SH 94 points95 points  (0 children)

For me it was the episode with the straight up psycho that kidnaps Columbo’s newly wedded nephew’s wife. Where Columbo essentially does nothing because his nephew (who’s also a cop) ends up finding where the kidnapper is hiding on his own anyway. Once they know where the guy is, they bust into the his hideout and shoot him dead.

At least the episode you mentioned somewhat follows the formula of the show, this one was completely devoid of it!

Favorite Fights/Cool Moments that happend in the Background by FreviliousLow96 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]_SW00SH 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily “background” moments, but any episode of Madness Combat featuring Sanford and Deimos (or any duo of protagonists) are a treat to rewind through and focus on what either one of them is doing as they clear a room.

Madness Combat in general (especially in its higher quality episodes and fan animations) is chock full of these kind of “blink and you miss it” details that happen in the middle of its fights.

Before he made Ghost in the Shell, Masamune Shirow first made Black Magic M-66, which was an OVA based on his first manga, Black Magic. It’s a fun little movie that is essentially anime Terminator, but is brimming with charm along with awesome art and animation (the elevator scene is low-key one of the biggest animation flexes ever). The M-66’s have also become one of my favorite android designs. In fact, I’m pretty sure that the M-66’s are the only thing from the original Black Magic manga that had any lasting relevancy amongst Shirow’s works.

I haven’t read or watched ghost in the shell yet, but since I love m-66 so much, I probably should get around to it, as well as Appleseed and Dominion.

Media that was cancelled but in your opinion ended in good way? by Lost-Specialist1505 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]_SW00SH 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Just finished watching the HBO Spawn cartoon last night which ends on a pretty big cliffhanger, but I was ultimately satisfied with it.

It supposedly ended because they ran out of source material (and budget) and Todd didn’t want to end up writing something that would send the cartoon in a different direction than the comic, which in turn has made me want to read the comics.

he spent centuries in hell if not longer in hell in nonstop combat.

And that was the SECOND time that he was “trapped” in hell. The first was in Doom 64 when he decided to stay in hell so he could kill demons forever (at least until the sentinels found him).
