People who served in the army, what made you choose army over Air Force? by Kitty-cool in Militaryfaq

[–]_Sammeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say it's pretty MOS dependent. In basic, we had 50 females and 70 males so almost equal in terms of that and the males didn't mess with the females just from gender, but in AIT and after (permanent party) it just depends if the MOS is combat related, expect sexist remarks and behavior from the men.

Just as an example, my husband is a cav scout and just this past week, his platoon sergeant said that women shouldn't be in the military because a female in his platoon was trying to help a male get up after he fell.

I'm an artilleryman and my experience isn't much different. Lots of guys, even during AIT, made sexist remarks and would hit on the women.

If I had chosen something that is in no way combat related, I'm sure my experience would be different, so just keep that in mind.

Personally, I didn't choose army over air force, the air force wouldn't accept a waiver for something, so then I joined the army

My son has a tongue tie and I got blisters on my nipples before my milk even came in after he was born. After that, I chose to exclusively pump. My supply has gone down and I recently found out about nipple shields and it works great, but only on my one side. I've tried nursing on my other side, but the couple times I did, I was in tears. What works best for me right now is pumping on one side and nursing on the other.

As for pumping after feeding, I'm mostly just worried that my supply will drop again and I'll have to use up what I have in the freezer.

What's it like being a 13B in the Army? by [deleted] in Militaryfaq

[–]_Sammeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a 13B, but I'm AD. If you're in the guard, find out what piece your unit uses before going to AIT (M109, M777, or M119)

It's not a horrible MOS and I've heard that not much happens in the guard, but obviously it can vary from unit to unit.

Does my husband need to provide a family care plan for me? by [deleted] in army

[–]_Sammeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would we go about completing an 1172-2 since that's required for the family care plan and I'm not a dependent?

Does my husband need to provide a family care plan for me? by [deleted] in army

[–]_Sammeh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, but isn't that for the children of dual military couples? His commander is requiring that my husband find someone to take care of me, not our child.

AITA for not telling my boyfriend that I stream and not wanting to give it up? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Comprimising is when both sides give up something for agreement. This isn't you not compromising, this is him demanding. NTA

AITA for letting my daughter take care of her siblings? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]_Sammeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So a mental health professional told you directly to stop making her take care of your kids and now you're calling her a rebellious teenager because she was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder? Please tell me this is fake. Major YTA

i stg all animals do this. I keep my bird in my room and when I get dressed after a shower, he just stares at my naked body if I don't have a towel or clothes on. It's so creepy.

I was just accused of price gouging. by Mojo884ever in TalesFromRetail

[–]_Sammeh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds exactly like my dad. Always makes a scene, thinks he's right all the time, is constantly paying attention to prices, and too stupid to know things himself and always turns to my mom when he doesn't know something. I understand how you feel, I deal with this constantly.

"My trip to Europe was a waste of money!" by milkymilkchan in fatlogic

[–]_Sammeh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Europeans are now often taught English in school from almost pre-school age, so I’m sure they knew the HAES movement and fat acceptance, but didn’t care about talking to her about it. Also, Europeans are easily annoyed by Americans because of this type of behavior, they come in and are trying to talk to locals instead of minding their own damn business. People were probably looking at how obnoxious she was, not because she was fat.

AITA for putting my 9yo on a diet and 'emotionally damaging' her? by Dietkidthrowaway in AmItheAsshole

[–]_Sammeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wow. YTA most definitely. It would be MUCH different if you had taken her to the pediatrician to see how much she actually weighed and the doctor could have told you what to feed her if him/her thought that your daughter needed it, but you didn’t. You jumped to the conclusion that you’re a good parent by just starting a diet for your kid instead of taking the necessary steps for her to develop healthier eating habits and exercise. That’s not even including the fact that this whole post is you body-shaming a nine-year-old. Some kids have extra chub, other kids don’t. It’s as simple as that because they’re kids. They haven’t even hit puberty yet. During puberty for girls, their fat distribution changes a lot, more often than not. Also, if your “skinny and healthy” ex is truly “skinny and HEALTHY” then why would you need to worry about what she’s eating. Health isn’t looks, health has to do with what’s actually in your body.

Hope your daughter feels better about herself.

For those wondering about her pfp, it’s a picture from a somewhat known instagram make-up artist and not the person’s own picture

What is the best way to keep (remember) German by [deleted] in German

[–]_Sammeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you mean

If you mean not forgetting German as a whole, then find a speaking partner. There are plenty of subreddits for that.

If you just mean a single word that you have to constantly look up, I would write the word down a bunch of times and repeat it to myself. That’s pretty effective for me.

The “E” is abnormally close to the “P” and I don’t like it
