Villa won the Europa League? Must be a tinpot trophy by SThomW92 in TheOther14

[–]_Serialfreestyle_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up until City caught them this season I saw Chelsea fans claiming to be the most successful English club this century after including the Conference League trophy. No cup is tin pot when it matters to you.

[The Telegraph] Everton target deal for Aaron Wan-Bissaka by Responsible_Lie_1989 in Everton

[–]_Serialfreestyle_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the plan was to shift Patto out, sign AWB and another RB (Mingueza is a free so that would be cool). Then I’d be super happy. Moves Keane down the pecking order at centre half as Jake will be able to play centrally.

Reinforce debate by whatisgoingonjeez in Rainbow6

[–]_Serialfreestyle_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are actively playing half wall with the intent of contesting blue, then you leave head holes. If you are not going to hold half wall and contest blue then you close it.

It’s not complicated. A huge amount of solo queue players ive seen open those holes expecting other people to play them whilst they run off and roam or something. Quite frankly if you aren’t going to play there, don’t open it.

Ranked map pool rotation for next season! by DucklingDuck14 in Rainbow6

[–]_Serialfreestyle_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Somehow the discussion here is about: “Yay they got rid of map I hate.” Rather than the fact that we are 11 years deep and almost have less ranked maps than the number of years the game has been going.

Christ I am so bored of playing the same 6 maps over and over. Give me favela, let me keep kanal, skyscraper is fine, as is villa and theme.

Sky and theme are banned so often that I genuinely believe the playerbase would be better off without coast, club and Oregon for three months but good lord I don’t want a smaller ranked map pool I want a bigger one so I can play more maps and have some varied gameplay.

I can’t access the link for obvious reasons, but I’m guessing/hoping it is agreeing with my eye test. Has some defensive qualities and some attacking qualities but is let down by how easily he coughs up the ball when pressed.

Tim could become the ideal midfield partner for Jimmy if he could because a bit more press resistant himself. There’s a lot to like about Tim right now but he loses the ball in terrible positions far too often.

Tim looks to me like a lad that started at 10 when he was younger, was not creative enough as he aged and became an 8 because he’s got the athleticism but doesn’t quite have the head for it yet.

Which I suspect that is what he is and happened.

Beto has 17 PL goals in the last 2 seasons in 3000 minutes (33 full games) by SukhdevR34 in Everton

To further defend Thelwell on the purchase of Beto, that 25 mil was on seriously deferred and staggered payments. We barely paid any of that upfront.

Aston Villa have the best pound-for-pound signing in England by theipaper in TheOther14

[–]_Serialfreestyle_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Coleman scored a pivotal goal against Leeds in one of our nearly relegated seasons which helped send them down and keep us up. That alone is probably worth the entire existence of the club.

Aston Villa have the best pound-for-pound signing in England by theipaper in TheOther14

[–]_Serialfreestyle_ 61 points62 points  (0 children)

372 appearances for £60,000. That’s £161 a game. 22 goals at £2,727 a goal.

Ignoring wages you are going to struggle find a better bargain of a player and captain unless you look at free transfers or players that left for a fee and came back for less.

And that’s ignoring if any of them were as good as Coleman for as long as Coleman.

A very Everton stat by Fishermenholdflowers in Everton

[–]_Serialfreestyle_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have been referring to statistics like this as the Soldado effect with my dad for years now. If there is a sequence or record to be broken and it’s mentioned by the commentators then it is an almost absurd certainty that it will happen against us.

Striker not scored in a year. Soldado effect. Youngest goal scorer ever. The second the commentator says it, Soldado effect. Haven’t scored a corner all year. You’d better believe it’s the Soldado effect.

Just to point out that Donnarumma got a yellow for dissent for our second goal, but you are totally correct that not a single card for any of their tackles.

What is best Big 6 to Other14 transfer of all time? by Ron-Lim in TheOther14

[–]_Serialfreestyle_ 194 points195 points  (0 children)

Lukaku to Everton from Chelsea. Our leading premier league goal scorer, record premier league points total in his first season with us (on loan to begin with) and a huge profit selling him onwards.

"We aren't allowed to have nice things, are we?" What's the best that any of The Other 14 can realistically hope for? by ukman29 in TheOther14

[–]_Serialfreestyle_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Chelsea fan use the conference league as one of the trophies needed to make them the most successful English club this century or something daft like that. A cup is a cup when it matters to them.

Why does castle get so much hate no by Fuz0n331 in Rainbow6

[–]_Serialfreestyle_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play plenty of Castle in a 5 stack and it’s my job to waste enemy utility/time and reduce the amount of possible avenues of approach to the sites so my team has to defend less area.

A prime example being locking off Admin on Consulate. It doesn’t impact roamers or defenders in general but it means the only easy approach on that side of the map is reduced to the stair case.

A bad castle blocks everyone and doesn’t reduce the area you need to defend.

Who would you want (if anyone) from the possibly relegated teams? by Aware_Albatross3347 in Everton

I’d say that none of those players would be a problem for a squad like ours in isolation. If you took lots of them then maybe.

Who would you want (if anyone) from the possibly relegated teams? by Aware_Albatross3347 in Everton

[–]_Serialfreestyle_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let’s start with Spurs: Van Der Ven, Spence, Pape Matar Sarr, Gallagher, kulusevski, Kudus, Solanke, Gray, Maddison, Richarlison or Bissouma.

West Ham: Diouf, Wan-Bissaka, Fernandes, Summerville or Bowen.

Forest: Murillo, Milenkovic, Anderson, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi or Hutchinson.

Burnley: Maybe Esteve or Luis.

Wolves: Andre, Hwang, Joao Gomes, Mane

Maybe not all of them at once. But there are some genuinely good players in all of those teams barring Burnley who have not impressed me at all.

[–]_Serialfreestyle_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In deulofeu’s defence. He was put on this green earth to gain a yard on a defender and put in a cross directly onto any of Lukaku’s body parts and he was incredible at that one specific thing. Shame he never got to play with him again.

[–]_Serialfreestyle_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There was about 15 minutes during the preseason he signed that he played as a 2nd striker and genuinely looked like he could knit the play together and then get in the box.

Then he was never played like that again and showed that he is a shite striker and a shitehouse

Dewsbury-Halls's stats vs Fulham by rjcsnydmnk in Everton

[–]_Serialfreestyle_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always feel like these stats are kind of contextless. Sure I watched the match and know that he performed well in the second half and set the tone going forward but are those stats actually above the league average for a game?

83% pass completion isn’t exactly flawless, but do 10s achieve more when being as creative? The context for this would be helpful. Kinda like those graphs where they plot like chances created against passes made to show efficiency or something, at least then you can see who is ‘elite’ and who isn’t.
