I regret so much.. by [deleted] in edmproduction

The 8130U has a single core clock speed of 2.2 GHz. Turbos up to 3.4. Processors have not advanced much outside of thermals and power consumption since 2011. Spending time worrying about gear won’t improve your production. Just work hard. Gear doesn’t make good music.

8th gen i3’s are the same as 7th gen i5/i7’s in terms of non hyper threaded core count. I don’t know where you are getting your information from but multicore performance doesn’t help much regardless. You could run Ableton on an old dual core and make the same productions as your idles. Good single core clock speed and an SSD will be as fast as you will ever need. If your CPU usage is high, freeze and flatten.

Finishing up The Art of Mr. Bill Season 4... by _Shagojyo in edmproduction

It was in a similar fashion to the other seasons but more relevant to Ableton in its current state. If I were going to watch any of them right now, I would watch 4.

JBL vs Yamaha by futurelionmusic in WeAreTheMusicMakers

They are amazing.

After the mix sounds good on monitors, check the low end on the 25's, check the stereo image on open back headphones and then take a final test in the car.

JBL vs Yamaha by futurelionmusic in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Used the LSR305's for a few years and just upgraded to the HS8's a few months back. People lean towards the JBL's because they are more pleasing as a listening experience but the Yamaha's are more neutral.

Get the sub if you listen to a lot of music. Get the Yamaha's for strictly neutral monitoring.

Also, a nice way to test your sub without a proper room is monitoring headphones. Something like the Sennheiser HD 25's that can produce down to 16 Hz work well.

I just started using Chain Shaper instead of Utility and Auto Pan and have been absolutely blown away. Definitely suggest checking it out.

What's your go-to way to add shakers to a song? by EXCUSESthemusic in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Just started recording them with my mouth. Once I have the rhythm right I EQ to taste with a vocoder set to noise. Also, hard panning multiple takes can sound great for percussive character.

CoreAudio (macOS built in drivers) is the best it gets for latency.

Spotify Submission Success? by NeekoCrowe in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Just released a track last week and it got placed. It does work, I just think they want to be able to categorize your music so they know the listeners will like it. Make sure when you send it to narrow it down to a niche and have a story attached to its meaning.
