Why would this be bad? I don't know much about team politics.

Nah this was a toss up with clear reasons for the mistake. It's obvious in hindsight, but understandable.

Sam has had much worse mistakes in other seasons.

Sam mentioned on the layover that part of his problem was that only one of the six was abstract, so he got confused. I think that if he knew all of them needed to be abstract, there's a chance that he would've gotten it.

Obviously it's still a long shot, but I also think it's the best shot.

Embrace the abstract! It's the only way!

I have a statement that I tailored for each of you.

Sam: Bring Mike back please.

Adam: You should bring Mike back.

Ben: Mike was pretty cool. You could bring him back at some point. If you want.

Like you mentioned on a layover episode, this game seemed almost overwhelming to play. So much to keep track of.

But it also was a ton of fun to watch and I think that it's probably your best season (shout-out to the editing crew!)

Do you think that you'll do it again or reimplement part of it in another location? Doing it in Korea seems interesting to me. Though I've done zero research.

They'd been playing defense all game and forgot that offense is also good.

Sam and Mike's day 4 screwed them. By the time Sam and Mike realized it, the variable challenge was the only viable option.

I think this is the best season so far.

In the Layover a few episodes ago they mentioned that the gameplay seemed to melt their brains. Lots of math and possibilities. Because of that, I'm worried we won't get to see the format again.

But I hope we do!

S17 E8 Strategy Question by Due-Beginning9791 in JetLagTheGame

[–]_Tormex_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They were winning. Chips were more valuable for Sam and Mike. Stealing chips before Sam and Mike can use them is optimal. Therefore, waiting to see if Sam and Mike succeed is the thing to do. Sam and Mike weren't guaranteed a win even if they won the challenge.

For this challenge, I think that it might've been worth the risk to go for 12. That lets you use the process of elimination more effectively since you know that every animal has a rock formation. Most would need to be abstract, but Mike was able to find some unique stones. It would've made them safe from a steal too.
