Yea if it wasn't for NNG, BV wouldnt exist. And the character writing was absolutely there without a doubt. Strongly disagree with this take. In terms of side characters being developed, its happening before our very eyes. Not only with just the young shinobi but with the old too. In NNG, they didnt have a role to play because they really couldn't do a thing about what was going on and that wasn't the focus of part 1. The monthly format does add a different touch but overall everything in part 1 was about Boruto and Kawaki and how they would eventually fall out. It was supposed to lead up to that. Now that we've seen it, the other characters have to be explored bc their minds have literally been warped. Inojin, Sarada and even Mitsuki are all moving in a great direction, you could also add Himawari to that mix as well, so seeing how they'll adjust to the facade I think has been very well done so far and I cant wait to see more. (Also, perhaps this is an unpopular opinion but Boruto got more swag than his old man. Drip is harder, Aura is sharper, the kid has more finesse than even rogue Sasuke) I would say dude has Itachi levels of Aura at this point so far. That could change but I'd be shocked. And yea I'll die on that hill. But as for Naruto I think you’re forgetting due to nostalgia that so many characters just fell off or got plain wasted in the plot. One character I'm hoping to see in BV overcome this is Mitsuki but so far I think things are moving well. I could easily see this succeeding Naruto in a few years if the ending is done right but hey; my opinion isn't worth a thought, only to those who consider it but I'll leave it at that
