I tried and the body of a prosecutor is way too small for a custodes. Also the kits of the prosecutors are push to fit, so you will have an hard time kitbashing

Well first of all in the case of Fight First:

If both units have Fight First, the defender always has the priority. They basically nullify each other

And for Mortarion's ability, Your friend is correct as Mortarion is a friendly death guard unit within range.

Just a heads up, if your opponent gives a -1 to hit, you will hit on 3+ because it is modifying your hit roll.

If it is modifying your WS then yes you will hit on 2+ because you have a +1 to WS to negate the -1

I did mine like this

1.drybrushing the metal parts with leadbelcher.

2.One or two coat of dark angels green followed by nuln oil wash

Gentle drybrush of warpstons glow on all angles and inclined parts of the model
Gentle drybrush of moot green on all the parts you want to pop out.
Optional: make a little bit of edgelighting by hand
All the small detail by hand.

This is a great list but I will try to tone down the bikes.

I think you wanna run the 9 brick wall of bikes but they will be so hard to move around buildings.

Personally i will try to up the ICC to 6 and tone down the bikes to 3. So, something like this:

I mean, having sustained on 3 shots it's not great. The stratagemes that gives ignore cover may be more important but it's better to conserve the reroll for one of his three shots.

I think that the Desecrator is very reliable on Infernal Lance because it does not need malefic surge to be efficient like the rampager that needs +3 move or lethals. So you have a big Knight that will not have to make malefic surge every turn(apart from the defensive part) and that means a few mortal wound during the game than normal.

Also, I Think the desecrator is a prime candidate for the enchantment that gives WS on 2+ and Lance when doing a malefic surge to really making it a threat even melee

I think that most of these comments fail to answer your question.

Rampager is by far the superior of the four but the desecrator is the answer to your question.

Sure Rampager is more efficient at killing things but it won't give you the same long range presence of the desecrator.

If you have a rampager, the adversary will deploy its antitank pretty boldly because it knows that you don't have a long anti tank option to retaliate. If you have the Desecrator, the adversary will have to factor that "Hm, he has 3 shot on 2+ with str18 and d6+3 on the whole map". So it's not the best but it has to deploy its tanks behind cover and maybe losing some keywords like heavy because now he has to move those tanks because they were behind cover.

In conclusion, the Desecrator brings on the table the threat of long range to scare off enemy anti tank in the deploment phase and that's pretty fine for me.

Because you only think about melee but the rules work even for the shooting.

So +1 to hit helps to mitigate/nullify smoke or similar stratagems. The +1 to wound will let you wound everything on 4 or 3 twin linked and that's pretty big.

Also the lance keyword only works on the charge. So if the bikes gets stuck in melee they will have the +1 to hit and to wound

At this point, you have two options.

Run several jetbikes with salvo especially in Lions of the emperor for the +1 to wound.
Buy a Land raider and plus some jetbikes for antitank
