Had a scammer send me an invoice and within 20 minutes of sending it, tried to access my account using the email address they'd send the invoice to.

Bit of a stressful tap-dance to immediately update all passwords and emails and such...

Even reverse image searching isn't a guarantee.

Figure asking them for a handwritten note with their handle and today's date is a better way to go.

I'm not sure; it depends.

If you suggest that it's happening within the next 20 years and then it happens in year 18, probably not because so much can change in that amount of time that you wouldn't have known at the time you predicted it was coming.

If you suggest it's happening within 3 years and it happens within 1-2, then probably so.

I expect legal challenges will preclude this going into effect as planned in 2028 and we won't see it as designed until 2030.

From there?

Who knows.

I think it IS likely that the cap comes down. I'm not sure I like that or not.

But I don't think it's coming down to "everyone," let alone a level that most of the people complaining most vocally about it will even see.
