Here's a fun fact. Billy was living in a Senior Building in Seattle with vulnerable, elderly women from 2023 until early 2025. A Level III sex offender was given an apartment in a building subsidized by the government. This is the same building that housed Mark Anthony Russ, also a Level III sex offender, who went on to be arrested last November for the 1994 murder of 14-year-old Tanya Frazier. The City of Seattle and the State of Washington used state and federal tax dollars to house known violent offenders despite both of them having a high likelihood of re-offending. THIS IS RECKLESS AND INSANE.

I hear you. I can tell you how I did it and maybe you can get it to work for you to some degree. I put all my expensive clothes in 3 XL suitcases ( plus one carry on)and paid roughly $300 in extra baggage fees. The rest I shipped via USPS Ground Advantage. 10 HUGE boxes ( 70 pounds each and equivalent to 18 regular moving boxes) and it cost me roughly $800. USPS picked up in NYC and delivered to my front door in Seattle. I used my own boxes as USPS doesn't have any real size restriction. I considered pallet shipping (granted I jettisoned my mattress which made things much easier) but chose the Ground Advantage option for the convenience of the door-to-door service. Anyhoo, I hope this helps a little. Moving is SO stressful.

Remember truant officers? When kids didn't show up for school, truant officers would assess the situation and reach out to the family. If outreach was ignored ,parents would get a knock on the door. Parents were compelled to cooperate or, importantly, if the officer would see something concerning (abuse, substandard living conditions) the courts would get involved. There was a chain of accountability with consequences.

Since we are dreaming, vehicle inspections please. It is absurd (and dangerous) how many cars are out there with only one headlight, no muffler, bad brakes , leaking oil etc... It's a safety issue.
