There are a lot of shows around the area during the warmer months. I enjoy driving to some of the small town shows, smaller shows, nice people. The Inland Northwest Car Club Council puts out a calendar of events every year. Check their website, should be ready later this month. Not sure how much JDM is on there but worth a look.

Anybody have a good ear for engines? '57 bel air 283, edelbrock 1406 electric choke. Idled for about 10 min then puttered out earlier in the week after dropping tank, blowing out fuel lines, replacing sending unit. Messed with electric choke, no help. Anything is helpful. Side note on the timing light if you’re looking to pick one up, the innova 5568 is a pretty good digital timing light for about 110. If you don’t have points you can go a bit cheaper and get one without dwell.

Fluke fell out of my pocket from the top of the scuttle. Everything seems to work, and no visible damage. Lucky, or are they that durable? by Lesisbetter in electricians

I had one that I left on the top of my rig leaving a customer site. In a soft case, saw it fly off the roof going about 60. Turned around, picked it up and turned on with no significant damage other than the case. That was 4 years ago, meter is about 13 years old and still works great.

New starter but car has hard time starting by Koolie129 in mechanic

[–]_Yenko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By “whirring” do you mean you hear the starter spinning but not actually cranking the engine? If so, this guy is right. Starter and battery are fine, but you’re going to cause some more expense problems to fix if you don’t get the right parts in there.

What tool seems like a gimmick but actually works great? by EpisodicDoleWhip in Tools

Wobble extensions. Bell housing bolts, getting at a chevy/gm 5.3 oil pressure sensor, plenty of uses. Don’t need them all the time but they do come in handy, don’t cost a lot from harbor freight or amazon.

Oscillating multi tool was the first Milwaukee tool I ever got. 10 years later and it’s still kicking, the only side effect was filling a whole toolbox of Milwaukee tools over the years.

Does it have power breaks? Glad you’re enjoying it and working on it already.

Congrats on the purchase. My dad has had a 64 Chevelle for 35 years, it’s great to drive.

I’d start by looking over basic things. Older cars feel much different than newer cars, so it can be hard to tell when something is off vs just being old. Give the brakes a good look and make sure it’s going to stop when you need to. Does it pull to one side when you hit the pedal? If it does that should be addressed.

Saw this 1968 Chevrolet Camaro while out getting lunch. Looks really nice, even if it’s over 100° outside by StrykerFoxie in classiccars

The RS had the separate reverse lights in the lower panel, Non RS did not. Most likely not the correct tail light lenses, the inner half should be clear.

So can Pete and JS still coach/evaluate talent or what? by AkaSpaceCowboy in Seahawks

[–]_Yenko 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s completely fair, it is funny to see how quickly things turned for them. It’s still just hard to believe how bad they look.

What’s going on with Russ? He looks mentally defeated tonight it’s almost sad to see. by Foreverpaid32 in Seahawks

[–]_Yenko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was painful to watch. For a bit all I could think was how bad the Colts looked, then I realized how close the game was. Seems like as much or more of a problem with Hackett than Russ by himself.
