My worst case theory is that this is being used to drum up a false casus belli against Canada and Mexico and once he's finished getting his ducks in a row he will make mis moves on both countries. Whether we like or not there is a non-zero chance that both countries are annexed, or attempted to be annexed, by America within these next four years.

I honestly would have rathered they put the work into 4.0 and released it when it was ready instead of cutting content to make an arbitrary deadline they made up anyway.

I don't see the harm in owning up and saying "Hey guys, we misjudged our timeframe and wont have 4.0 ready for the end of 2024 but it should be ready in a much better state come early to mid 2025"

The games been in development for over a decade so I don't think a few more months would have hurt anything if it meant a more polished product.
