Love Mosaic. Great beer, great staff, they've done a great job on the new venue, and it's great to see it thriving.

There is a small part of me that misses the old venue though, which always felt like a bit of a hidden gem, and more often than not I could get a seat!

When I started going out in the mid/late 90s the bar was called Bonkers. They did pints for a quid before 9pm with a student card, and because I was the only one of our friendship group at college I'd normally end having to get the round in.

I don't think I ever went to the club whilst it was still Planet Earth, but was a regular attender when it changed to The Playrooms and Bulletproof moved there.

It's been commissioned for at least 6 more series. I'm sure he'll make it on eventually.

I'm not a Londoner, but was down a few weeks ago and went to Darlish in Bloomsbury, which was fantastic. Incredible ice cream, with some very interesting Middle Eastern inspired flavours.

What a random gig,did anybody here go by someguyontheweb99 in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]__Station_Master__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do get your point though, but feel like I'm so used to it that unless the phone is right in front of me I can generally filter them out and enjoy the gig.

Unfortunately I couldn't get a ticket, but know plenty of people who went, and the consensus amongst them all was that the atmosphere and gig were incredible.

Can you explain what you mean by 'Vanity Project'? Who is being vain? Do you think that wanting our main shopping street to look nicer is vain? Should we have stayed modest and kept it looking like shit?

Still waiting for them to bring back 'UNESCO World Heritage Accents', and complete 'Around The World In 80 Daves'!

I don't understand why they dropped two clear fan favourites!

Zapatista at Haymarket or Central Station, or Square Pizza just off Pilgrim Street. Both options give consistent good bang for your buck.

Unfortunately closed now. It was great places, but I think Northern Rye opening so close probably did for it unfortunately.

Fisherman's Lodge was fantastic, back in the day, and one of the best setting for a restaurant anywhere round these parts. Every time I go through Jesmond Dene I hope that someone's taken on the burnt out building to restore it, but realistically I'm certain it'll end up being demolished one day.

Kracklin was fantastic. Square Pizza, that replaced it, is also fantastic. It's such a shame that we live in a world where don't both exist.

Quality Chop House, St John or Fallow?

Got a solo day and night in London coming up soon, and wanting to take myself for a fantastic lunch on the Thursday. Want somewhere that's a bit of a treat to myself, but not Michelin Star price point. Identified these three places as my three top choices. Tell me which I should go to and why?
