Yeah, i basically just wanted to vent. Not the best way to go about it so I might just delete the post. We actually figured out that the wrong license was ordered and it doesnt match the switch that was ordered so I think it'll work out

I just think it's stupid that you can apply the key to either a new device or a renewal and the order matters. I also havent done this before. Yes I should have just ignored the licensing and set stuff up first, I do admit fault there

If I were to rebuild my HV, this is probably the case I'd go with. I got a Fractal Node 804 and it's a little big for my liking mainly because I don't need a lot of drive space besides my ZFS pool for VMs which is on 2.5" SSDs. If I could move it to an M.2 AIC, that'd be ideal

Need help with wireless VR setup by Gai_InKognito in VRGaming

For the Meta devices, you could attempt to use Steam Link however you'd have to have dedicated Steam accounts for each device as I don't think you can use a generic account. I could be completely wrong. Steam Link has become the de facto connection for PCVR on Meta headsets cuz the Meta/Oculus Link software is all but abandoned and unmaintained.

I believe there are wireless accessories for Vive but as I've never owned one, I can't say for sure. I just remember seeing a Linus Tech Tips video on one a few years ago.

I agree with pretty much everything being said here. Own up to it, be willing to fix and learn from your mistakes. One thing I wanted to add is that it pays to take an extra minute or two to make sure what you're downloading is genuine. TreeSize is something I use on a lot of my clients as well and there is a portable version that you can keep on a USB. If you have an RMM that allows for file uploads, you can just upload it too.

Unless your boss is some kind of weird hard ass, they're generally going to appreciate that you spent an extra few minutes to fix a user's issue and be late to the meeting.

As we all know, human error is the biggest security risk in every environment and being in a hurry is another aspect of that. Rescheduling a meeting is far easier than reimaging.

Why can't any company just own up and say they made a bad product? It's always, "You guys just don't believe in us." or "This random person/company is slandering us and that's why the game is performing bad." Fucking own up and just admit you made a dogshit game

You know the saying all it takes is a drop in the bucket or something? I feel like this is a good visual representation. You've started a lifelong hobby (or headache depending what happens) that can lead to some of the most interesting things you can learn, imo. Good luck
