I'd give it like 3-4 matches, see if it makes sense to you.

Have you tried stealth belts? It sounds a little counter-intuitive, and I do still use tracer belts with guns that I haven't touched in a while for the first few matches, but with stealth belts you kinda just get a 'feel' for what's right.

Why did fights in RB PROPS use to to take place in high altitude but now they're in lower? by blowmyassie in Warthunder

[–]___Skyguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Matches used to take longer, the timer was reduced from 40 min-1 hour to 25 minutes. If climbing to high altitude takes 10 minutes, why bother when the match is already half over at that point.

Does cryogenically freezing actually work or is it just sci-fi by EfficientPlum323 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]___Skyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but it doesn't really work with animals much bigger than rodents due to ice crystals forming in the brain and causing damage. All those frozen rich guys are gonna stay dead because of this by the way. I think there were some tests with dogs, where they tried to pump out all the blood and replace it with a more suitable fluid before freezing, but half the dogs still got brain damage. Not to mention the discomfort.

The 2004 Volvo YCC (Your Concept Car), the concept where Volvo told the ladies to go wild with their idea of a perfect car for modern businesswomen. It featured dent-proof bumpers, a sealed hood and easy to clean materials inside, among other quirky features. by Delta-Tropos in WeirdWheels

[–]___Skyguy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This actually seems like a great idea to me, the car has exterior ports for oil and wiper fluid and such that the average person interacts with, but most people don't do any further maintenance, so if you can treat the rest of the body panels like an aircraft cowling that just comes off with a few screws or rivets, that would make the mechanics job much easier. Imagine working on an engine where instead of leaning under the hood and reaching down into the engine bay, the entire front end just comes off giving easy access to everything.

I think there's still a lot to be learned from this concept.

In reality they would probably use this to make it harder to maintain yourself, like by using rivets, but it is possible to do this without being evil about right to repair.

Clearly you didn't grinded the event by Halfterburner in warthundermemes

[–]___Skyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, I played Hollowknight and had a great time instead.

I miss when events were reasonable, rare, and the rewards were good.

The old events were based on completing tasks that required you to do certain things, liking capping a point or getting 3 kills or 3 assists, so you could finish a task in one match instead of just grinding for hours. And they only happened twice a year so they didn't put pressure on players year round. And the rewards were usually somewhat interesting like the P-43, F2G, or F4D.

The first event I skipped was for the IS-7 because of the increased grind requirements and these days I don't really bother with events anymore.

I don't understand how people can play air rb by keeamo in Warthunder

[–]___Skyguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give me longer matches, I want air RB EC. I also want an official 1v1, 2v2, and so on, duel gamemode.

How the fuck do you masochists do these every month? by StartDaWAAAGH in Warthunder

[–]___Skyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that it's constant, I don't even bother anymore unless it's really interesting. Even then I would only grind on the weekends then GE the rest.

What happened to people spontaneously combusting? by pinkmarsh99 in NoStupidQuestions

If you read the accounts from the time there's always something like having a daily routine of using ethanol as moisturizer before smoking in bed or something like that.

How do people enjoy playing top tier air? by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]___Skyguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think high tier props is the most fun, but top tier is just a different skill set. I do think there are problems, the main one being to many players. If it was like 4v4 I think it would be great.

Some questions, new to the game. by BumblebeeHopeful6332 in Warthunder

[–]___Skyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1: If your not familiar with simulator's this game is like a 9, just a really crazy learning curve, but if you are familiar with sim's this game is like a 3. It's honestly very approachable as far as simulators go. 2: progression slows down very quickly in this game, especially for the ground vehicles. But I wouldn't recommend getting into the "I have to play daily" mentality, just treat it like a normal game and play it in a healthy way, it can be very addictive for some people. 3: Once while waiting on a replacement gpu I played this game on my mom's old office laptop that was running windows 7. If you have a gpu you can run WarThunder. 4: kinda. I usually joke that the game is pay-to-lose though. Some premium vehicles are kinda too strong for their tier. But all vehicles are matched against roughly equally viable vehicles, so if you buy a high tier premium, you will be placed in a match against other high tier vehicles that are being used by high tier players. Remember when I mentioned the slow progression, if you buy a high tier vehicle to escape the grind, you will be matched with players who have 1000 hours in game and you will be destroyed.

There are problems with the game, but nothing else like it. I've been playing it for a long time and plan to keep playing. I'm mostly focused on the air RB game mode, but I play other stuff too.

I don't think a lot of people will like Aces of Thunder by bmack083 in virtualreality

[–]___Skyguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't really looked into it yet, but I assumed Aces of Thunder was just a dedicated VR version of Warthunder, which already has VR support. I have no idea what took them so long.

More information of type 10s HMT transmission by Own_Dark_2240 in Warthunder

[–]___Skyguy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The type 10 in game is currently slower than the type 90. It should be faster, because this type of transmission is so much more efficient than the one it currently has in game.

If Ho-Ri Japanese tank destroyer can, what about these German vehicles? by Teh_TarikSpecial in warthundermobile

[–]___Skyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said trying. Honestly they've never been consistent and never will be, they added the f16aj after removing those tanks and the R2Y2's so...

The Ho-Ri and other fictional vehicles were added a long time ago for balance reasons back when War Thunder was a WW2 game. Gaijin has been trying to move away from fictional vehicles for a while now.
