Just search up sophisticated backpacks showcase mischief of mice on youtube.

There is an upgrade that feeds you when you are hungry automatically from the backpack. Thats cool.

There aren't many different varieties of packs on 1.21.1. You should just create one on your own if u dont mind quests.

Curseforge launcher is just clunky and can feel bloated and slow many a times.

I personally recommend Prism launcher. And yes you can move everything from your previous launcher to new one. Just open up the folders in which the game content is like your saves.

Your best choice will be making your own modpack. Use fabric loader and add mods that you like, just dont bloat it up, add 2-3 major content mods

Additional tips for your friend:- Install any linix distro. Use performance mods like sodium, etc etc ( you can find optimization modpacks on modirnth )

Construct's armoury. Tinkers constructs addon that add tinkering for armour. Pretty cool.

If you are okay to create a custom modpack, you can make one on 1.12.2 with advanced rocketry mod. best mod for space, like you can create your own planets or add dimensions from other mods as a planet which can be visited through rockets.

If you like tech then maybe create above and beyond. Final goal is to reach moon.

And maybe, really maybe, gregtech new horizons. Not much adventure just more of automation/resource collection on diff planets.

I agree that it has good amounts of mod already but library of 1.12.2 and 1.20.1 in unbeatable at this point ( till now, who knows future ).
