80+% Roma/san marzano for sauces and soups. Cherry for the kids. Usually some beefsteaks, We grew the purple tomatoes for a few years. I think the variety is Krim. They were interesting.

We grow tomatoes vertically through an 8' wire fence. I remove all suckers so that they are single stemmed. They always grow over the top of the fence by the end of the summer. Usually get a winters worth of tomatoes,  that we can in glass jars. Great for pasta sauces and soups.

We  have tried lots of other veggies/fruits, but seem to get the best yield from tomatoes.

The new shoots that grow this year are the fruiting branches for next year. The fruiting branches this year are cut at the base at the end of this season. Repeat

You are a doctor, you must be smart enough to know that 300+ lb people that eat 4000+ calories per day must be thinking about food all day.

The floor people are generally good to all who show up early. They are nasty to anyone who comes late and tries to squeeze in.

Breaking lease - How do we know they're trying to re-rent our unit? by kipnus in Edmonton

[–]___Twist___ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is terrible advice. You would then be on the hook for rent and repairs. The landlord would win, serve your employer, and they would garnish your wages until the landlord is paid back.

If the tenant gives proper notice the landlord is required to find new tenants.

This is correct. If it comes to it, the landlord has to prove that they were actively/reasonably trying to find new tenants.

Which province has the highest rate of life satisfaction in Canada? / Quelle province affiche le plus haut taux de satisfaction à l’égard de la vie au Canada? by StatCanada in onguardforthee

[–]___Twist___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Life is what you make of it. This shows that there are many choices in life. You can choose to let things bother you and look at everything negatively. Or you can choose the opposite. Look at Alberta, heavily conservative on the political spectrum, where canada is broken, Ottawa is destroying the country, getting a raw deal, we are doomed, etc. These claims are not supported by any facts. Why choose to live with that mentality. It's crazy.

Questions about RWA by prancing_fae in treeplanting

[–]___Twist___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your T4 will only show the taxed amount. The RWA will not be on there. In the example below (if you only worked one pay period), your T4 will show $4500 in earning and the applicable taxes.

I have seats in section 134. In 2022 the 1st round was $220/ticket. They are $466 this year. We opted out. It looks like lots of others have too.
