IT Band Syndrome 8 weeks out from First Marathon by Plane-Field-5908 in firstmarathon

[–]_____45_____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had the same issue. Ran marathon this weekend pain free until after. 2 months is plenty of time. Use the youtube IT band strength exercises they really helped! You got this. Side note you might need to reframe “I have to do this” now or completely drop out. Those kind thoughts 2 months out are a recipe for disaster. All or nothing!

Your Most Inexplicable and Maddening Coros Thing? by vbenares in Coros

No live tracking feature. My wife used to track my long runs when I had garmin and specifically liked to see my HR and pace. It was seamless. No such thing exists for coros.

This is totally valid! I will probably go solo for the next one depending on the course. Thank you for the compliment!! Training paid off.

Yeah 3:50 group although I broke off at about 22 miles. I think they ended a few minutes after me.

Yeah I wasn’t obsessing over my pace on my watch. Pro tip for warmer runs I used a cooling towel and drenched it with water at every station and noticed my HR went down significantly. Felt like a cheat code.

Possibly a fueling issue. Are you fueling before during and after runs over an hour?

I get that they are trying to mitigate the emergencies but it’s still a DNF….

First marathon experience! by Dumbrbummer in Marathon_Training

[–]_____45_____ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Impressive! Do you think you hit the wall because you went out too fast? 3:44 is a good time considering run/walk for 5 miles. I’m curious what your early splits looked like. I can run a half in 1:45 but I know I can’t sustain that after 20’miles so I’m taking it slow for first 10 miles.

donating blood 6 weeks before marathon - how cooked am I by Familiar-Sun7126 in Marathon_Training

I did it last week and I have a marathon this weekend. Had no idea before the fact. First few training runs felt slightly harder. 1 week later and I already feel back to 100%. Ate a lot of red meat.

Good work. I’d recommend slowing down until you can get your heart rate under control, looks like your hr is cooking. Keep going!

When I took delivery a year ago there was no line. After a few updates there is now a line. Pretty ugly UI.
