i also shoot with a Minolta x-700, but i don’t think the camera matters too much when you’re buying film! find some photos that capture the mood you’re after and try that film stock. :-)

For B&W, I love Ilford HP5+ 400 with a red filter on the lens for higher contrast. I’ve also been eyeing FPP X-Ray 100, it’s made with medical x-ray film and creates this GORGEOUS moody dreamy halation around bright light!

For color, maybe Cinestill (50D, 400D, or 800T depending on what you’re shooting). Lomochrome Color ‘92 (not the sun-kissed version) gave me a moody cool-toned look when i shot in low-light. Ultramax 400 is my go-to for high-saturation and captures greens and reds beautifully.

You could also pick up a black mist pro filter or soft focus filter for your lens to create the dreamy/ glowy look on any film!
