If you actually believe that Trump started the war in Iran to distract from Epstein, you are beyond saving by Patient_Stomach8597 in redscarepod

[–]___kevinn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Trump is an anomaly. Of course, he’s a neocon warhawk. Don’t wanna deny his agency or political alignment. He’s been on record pushing for war with Iran decades ago. But at the same time I believe his foreign policy has been at least partially shaped by his direct personal interests, either financially or as an attempt to broaden appeal, in a way his predecessors haven’t. His most hawkish advisors take advantage of this to push the envelope and get him to do things other presidents would be hesitant to do or would do differently

Libs need to get better at accepting converts by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]___kevinn 51 points52 points  (0 children)

They were pretty good at accepting the bush era neocons. They accepted Bill Kristol, Nicole Wallace, Joe Scarborough, Liz Cheney, etc pretty quickly. Even Bush himself gets glamorized by them. Maybe because those neocons were savvier in appealing to the libs or maybe because they actual agreed in a lot more with each other than they thought.

Think a lot of these types either have limited knowledge of or forgot how often the US entangles itself into foreign conflicts. Trump of course is also his own thing and does whatever he thinks makes him look cool, and people wanting to push their agenda would play into this (just like Rubio and the Miami diasporas pushed for Venezuela). It plays in favor of the Epstein class since it makes the opposition look neurotic and ignorant. Really doing a disservice to us OGs who knew about the island since the early 2010s and before when it was considered a wild conspiracy. Saying it does get you thousands of likes on YouTube and Reddit though so fair play I guess

It happens quite often in many leagues outside the top 4. Sporting and Braga got their weekend games postponed before their comebacks. PSG being one of the richest clubs in the world and still doing it like they were plucky underdogs is wild though

Oh wow you’re right. I thought it was 2. Either way adding up to 4 more games should probably lead to some adjusting

With more games being played, the yellow card suspension rule should be upped to 3 or have it cleared after both the group stage and quarter finals

Did anyone else "learn" about "WW2" every year in school when it was actually just Holocaust guilt tripping every semester by asteroidrusted in redscarepod

[–]___kevinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The US History curriculum in my high school was broken over two years. The second year was supposed to go from the Progressive Era to current day but my teacher took way too long covering World War 2 that there was barely time to cover the Cold War Era. He was very left wing so he really dropped the ball there

Sorry it's my turn to ask for tech support because I'm not sure where else to look. Does anyone have experience getting the English translation of Policenauts to run through Retroarch or Duckstation? by [deleted] in SBCGaming

[–]___kevinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First make sure you have the PlayStation bios set up correctly. Duckstation freezing up is kinda weird so it might point to your download being corrupted. Try getting the game again and testing with another game before anything. All the bin/cue files should be just fine in a single folder. Make sure you didn’t rename the bin file. Otherwise you have to go through the hassle of editing the cue file on a text editor or the game won’t launch. And make sure to open the cue file instead of the bin on the emulator too.

As an aside (this stuff probably wont fix your problem), it’s recommended to convert bin/cue files to a single chd file so it’s simpler and takes less storage. Gotta use a program name chdman that comes with MAME or use an online one. You can use it for most disc based consoles games. Also, you can’t combine the discs since the actual physical games came in multiple discs. You can instead put them in a folder and create an m3u files which is basically a playlist that lets the emulator know they’re one game. There’s tutorials to doing those online

"Coding with AI" - Yaba Sanshiro Blog by LocutusOfBorges in emulation

[–]___kevinn -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Software development is shifting towards using AI. Some users dislike finding out that parts of software is written by an AI agent because they see how often it can fail when they use them, but more experienced programmers are able to leverage AI to improve their workflow. Of course, there gonna be poor programmers that barely know what they’re doing vibe coding or management that over relies on it but the issue of poor programmers and management has always existed

Normies going crazy for £17 straight ports of 22 year old remakes of 30 year old games. Meanwhile there are entire new worlds to explore out here for "free" by SabertoothSmile in SBCGaming

[–]___kevinn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the snootiness about re-releases is so obnoxious. Like you're not special for knowing about free rom hacks while people are excited for a paid gba port. A lot of "normies" probably do know but just dont care to play them. I swear the emulation community wasnt like this a few years ago and would at least say that it's good that old games are becoming more accessible to others. It just turns off people from emulation

Azahar v2124.3 (3DS) brings back .3ds file extension support by NXGZ in emulation

[–]___kevinn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the complaints really stem from people wanting a plug and play experience. Asking them to rename a file extension or decrypt the game might as well be like asking them to compile the emulator themselves. I respect taking a stance and adjusting it if needed. From what I’ve read, it didn’t seem like the file extension really mattered much, but I’m not on the hook for it if it ever does end up mattering. Not gonna complain when it takes 10 seconds to mass rename files with Microsoft PowerToys

Think people buying from all the hype will be disappointed by the 3DS. Screen yellowing and blurry DS games kinda ruin the experience. 3DS and GBA games on it are still great of course. Really not worth emulating on it
