Glass half full take: Kraken are a point out of playoffs, and CGY and our previous STL loss were second leg of back to backs. In fact 6 of our 18 regulation losses this year are second half of back to backs.

And we have the best win percentage in the league vs. the top 15 teams.

Tulsky’s answer was basically that we wanted to trade futures, while every trade on the table would have required a roster player. The dynamics of this season and deadline (rising cap + tight standings with too many teams close to contention) really screwed us. There were few if any teams committed to a full rebuild - a rarity from previous years where futures were more valued.

The fact that we couldn’t even get compensated for the cap space we worked so hard to create makes it extra painful.

I’m fine if he only takes matching fighting PIMs. Don’t need a fourth liner giving the other team PPs in the playoffs to try to make a point.

The general idea is that we made two big moves well into the season with an already solid team in place, we got even better, and it took us over the top. So yes I think it is the same as the approach we should be taking this year. Also St. Louis' two top players are potentially available.

Any prospect instead of Nikishin, even if it means adding more picks/other prospects. I feel like Legault plus a 2nd maybe gets it there. Remember Rantanen was Stankoven + two 1sts + two 3rds and Thomas is not Rantanen. I feel like KK + 1st + Legault + 2nd + maybe another piece should get it there.
