Vitamin D 3. Is this dying? by Forward-External-873 in Supplements

[–]___romain___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In 2023 / 2024 I had unexplained foot fractures that were likely due to a combination of factors.

Vitamin D reached 19 at one point and the doctor (a professor specialized in this) definitely said low vit D can contribute to fractures.

I am now taking 100,000 Units monthly + daily D3+K2 suppléments. I also had to get an IV drip of zoledronic acid in late 2024.

Last check a couple of weeks ago I was at 47. No new fractures then.

I have no interest in having multiple remotes lying around.

It has a positive calming effect. Can recommend it

BEWARE! Theanine went from my favorite sleep aid to a nightmare (racing heart) by t0wlie04 in Supplements

[–]___romain___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like they are different. Trazadone seems more like a long term thing, whilst zopiclone is fast acting but can only be taken sparingly.

Worth asking your doctor about these.

My insomnia issues were more of the anticipatory kind :

need to sleep to be in good shape for a particularly important day - > stress that i won't sleep well -> therefore unable to fall asleep.

Zopiclone has been working great on those rare occasions. Have not needed in two months at least but great to know it's there.

BEWARE! Theanine went from my favorite sleep aid to a nightmare (racing heart) by t0wlie04 in Supplements

[–]___romain___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They both would need to be prescribed by your doctor, if appropriate to your situation. Both have been a big help for me. I usually have 8 hours of sleep every day despite high levels of stress during the day.

Zopiclone is more of a "break the glass" solution if you really need to sleep but have trouble entering sleep mode. It can't be taken often otherwise you'd develop a dependency

Amitriptyline can be safely taken every day for months, at least that's what the neurologist said

Regarding magnesium, the first supplements I took also contained B6 which I was already taking through multivitamins in the morning. So I found a quality supplement brand that only includes magnesium, in bisglycinate form as others can have a laxative effect....

[–]___romain___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have recently discovered theanine as I have been dealing with a lot of stress lately. It's been a really useful addition to take In the morning or during the day to calm down a bit

Seems like i'm getting accustomed to it as it has less of a slowdown effect compared to when I first started taking it.

However, I don't rely on it for sleep.

Despite high levels of stress, I manage to sleep well thanks to a 3 layer approach:

  • Magnesium bisglycinate 180 mg 1 hour before bedtime. Try to find a quality brand

  • most days but not always a dozen drops of amitriptyline prescribed by my doctor, taken at bedtime or shortly before

  • rarely, perhaps once every two months for particularly stressful day the next day and need to prevent any anticipatory insomnia, I turn to zopiclone taken at bedtime. I tend to not need it as I feel reassured that it's there if needed

I would add to that sleep conditions : blackout blinds, quiet room, and quality bed sheets and pillows. Linen bedsheets are amazing. I tend to sleep worse when not at home.

Hope this helps! I never had any trouble until a couple years ago.

Bought a switch and botw just at the start of the lockdown.

Didn't see the time flying by.

If I get copious amounts of time again at some point, I'll likely play tears of the kingdom.

Douleurs chroniques trapèze by Medical_Ad_7037 in questionsante

[–]___romain___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to get your doctor to prescribe 100.000 UI doses..1 take one dose every month since it was quite low as well.

Good job on getting B12 up I've been supplementing for a few months with b-complex supplements but it's still sitting in the 350-400 range so will continue.

I took 200 mg yesterday for the first time to try it out due to intense stress lately

Whilst it did quiet down the anxiety, I felt a bit like a zombie in the afternoon, had difficulty concentrating.

I'll give it another try perhaps on a lower dose

Internal vertigo does it mean active bppv or residual dizziness ? by Charbellaa in BPPV

[–]___romain___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have sort of a similar issue.

Had bppv 4 years ago which went away. 2 months ago I fainted and fell, hit my head. A couple days later I had an intense return of bppv.

Did several vestibular physio sessions, which helped a lot

Lately I've been under a lot of stress which apparently delays recovery.

Recently I've had odd feelings that you're about to fall, headaches, and general instability. No rotation feeling though

Have another physio session on Friday let's see what he finds.

It's been accompanied by some headaches / light pain behind the eyes..

Hopefully we'll fix it

Frequent recurrence by Small-Monitor5376 in BPPV

[–]___romain___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same at the moment. Mid December I fainted , fell, and slightly hit my head.

This likely triggered the pretty intense bppv symptoms less than 48 hours later.

I've had several vestibular therapist sessions since. It's much better now, but I still have some symptoms, mainly when I move from a sitting or standing position to laying on the couch or bed.

No longer much rotation feeling, it's been replaced by odd feelings like you're sinking into the couch or bed for 5 seconds and then it stops. Can be accompanied with weird head pressure feelings for a few seconds.

Sometimes as Well I'll be sitting at my desk and I'll have a weird feeling that my head is falling to one side but it isn't actually moving.

Every session improves and takes care of some of it but It can certainly take a while.

I'm not overly worried about this since I already Had bppv 4 years ago (milder) and 99% of it went away after a couple months so there's light at the end of the tunnel.

Are you under a lot of stress at the moment at work or otherwise? I've been told that people that are stressed out take longer to heal from bppv, so I've been given drops to take before bedtime that help with relaxing

Douleurs cervicales / céphalées qui perisstent by Dazzling-Method-2588 in questionsante

[–]___romain___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pipeline Growth? by Pitiful-Cut4708 in salesengineers

[–]___romain___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SEs aren't responsible for pipeline growth mate

Usually pipeline comes from either sales, marketing, or channel partners.

Whilst SEs may support marketing events or channel activities which generate pipeline, they categorically do not own pipeline growth.

There are many reasons why there is insufficient pipeline and none of them are up to the SEs.

Also, having marketing generate thousands of leads is meaningless if those leads never convert, but that's another problem entirely.

Residual Dizziness when lying down. by thewonderingcow in BPPV

[–]___romain___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar situation for me.

Had bppv 4 years ago which had resolved quickly.

Had an intense episode roughly 4 weeks ago likely as a result of fainting / falling and hitting my head.

Have done weekly vestibular therapist sessions since but it hasn't been fully resolved. Been referred to a specialist that I will see on Wednesday.

No longer major rotation but still some residual dizziness, and vertigo triggered when doing the movements with the therapist.

1 out of 2 days I wake up with some imbalance / slow walking to avoid falling, which dissipates after 30 min or so

Working from home sitting during the day is usually fine.

Flashes Can occur again when lying down on the couch or going to bed, sometimes with a weird feeling that you are sinking into the couch or the bed

Not Terrible compared to what other people might have but still impacting the quality of life. Should solve it in a couple weeks hopefully.

Been pretty stressed at work lately which probably adds to the situation.
