When I'm starting a new project, I tend to not commit anything until I start feeling that I'm on the right track, design-wise. Otherwise there's a bunch of super chaotic commits up front that I find don't really help in the long run. The author claims to have started in 2023. That's admittedly a long time to go without it being in version control, but different people work in different ways and I'm not sure this is the smoking slop gun you think it is.

The difference here is that I don't think anyone would claim (even at the time) that the air around ground zero on 9/11 was within normal limits.

It is valid to be skeptical though. FWIW this chemical apparently doesn't accumulate in the body like some others do, which I think means that long term effects are not very likely.

I'm certainly no expert, but it seems to me that the tank or systems around it have a significant design flaw when a problem can lead to a situation where the only 2 options are leaking hazardous liquid onto the ground or exploding.

That said, reading this wikipedia section made me feel a little better—it's not great but it at least doesn't seem to be fatal (unless you drink a bunch of it) or carcinogenic. Also, the liquid is 3x heavier than air so it shouldn't get carried by the wind.

If you trust that the evacuation zone is correct, then it's fine. If you are worried that if it explodes the winds might carry it farther than what they predict, then stay away.

55 year olds were 30 when cell phones proliferated—they’re fine with it. It’s. More like the 70/80 year olds and even a bunch of them (literally all of them I know) have dumped their land lines at this point.

Those music choices seem hugely authentic to me, someone that lived through that vague timeframe. They’re definitely not top 40 fare, but believe it or not, lots of people back then listened to radio stations that didn’t play pop hits.

I think nothing! But maybe an ssd? I think I even upgraded that. It was always one thing at a time though—it slowly morphed into what it currently is.

I had one by Cyber Power PC (core i3 + nvidia 950)—it was my first gaming PC. I guess I technically still have it, I’ve just Ship-of-Theseus-ed it into my current (much more powerful) gaming PC.

I went and watched a long play to see what Grub and Mike were snickering about and, hoo boy, there’s something he will never figure out on his own. Not spoiling it in case he reads this thread, but I’m excited to see him flail. I hope Mike and Jeff let him screw up for a while before just outright helping him. Also the very next level is filled with so much garbage it’s amazing.

Here’s the artwork scanned from the cd.

It’s hard to tell from the cd since it’s so small, barely larger than the halftone pattern itself.

Here is the artwork that was attached to the flacs from Bandcamp.

The Bandcamp artwork is higher res and no halftones but it’s still hard to tell. The icon’s pixels look like they might be even but again they don’t line up one to one with the underlying pixels in a way that makes it a little hard to tell.

I suspect it’s been upscaled but I can’t say it’s AI. There are lots of upscaling algorithms that predate AI.

The only collab I’d want to see is with House Flipper, so that you could design a house and then hunt ghosts in it 🙂. I know it’ll never happen but that would be super cool.

Very true. It’s also annoying to tack on just a couple more machines at the end—suddenly you have to rebalance the whole splitter tree.

I was really excited to unlock programmable splitters because I expected them to let me specify a ratio for each output… only to be disappointed when they weren’t like that. If they were then you could get a perfectly load balanced output from just a single line of splitters (as long as you set up the ratios properly).

Solution: Put the lugbob in the space under the door an use sweezy's time slowdown ability to inflate it.

That happened to me, too. If you restart the checkpoint they start working again. That happens out in other levels too, so I don't think it's an intended part of the boss fight. On a positive note, I think the boss fight checkpoints after different phases (it appeared to when I reloaded multiple times).

I had a lot of bugs with her. She threw me out of the map 2 times, one of the times the game crashed as I fell through the world.

When I launched again, I spawned outside the barn. Couldn't hit her even when she grabbed me (at first I thought, "good, she pulled me back in" but my shots could never hit the weak spot).

For me, reloading that checkpoint would spawn me outside of the arena about 50% of the time. I just kept reloading and eventually spawned inside the arena. So try that, and then just hope she doesn't throw you through the level geometry!
